How about a 10% tariff on gun manufacturers?
Tarrif on gun manufacturers would be a good idea. Don't have any figures at hand but I figure they are the source of most of the slaughter worldwide.
... wouldn't that be a tax not a tarrif? Who manufacures the most weapons?
Why would you want to put such a tax on gun manufacturers? The only people that would get hit with such a tax is the law abiding citizens. Criminals don't care about taxes, nor do they care about laws. Guns don't slaughter people, people slaughter people.
Taxing guns at their origin it would affect all users, legit or not, and probably decrease the number of guns in circulation. People in general got suckered into the glory of gun ownership by gun manufacturers and their NRA publicity arm, they're the ones flooding the market without regards of who really ends up with them. We need more guns to protect ourselves from guns!
It's the same familiar story we keep seeing: cigarettes, opioids.
Exactly! We need more law-abiding citizens owning guns to stop the criminals that will harm and murder with their guns. I don't want to ask a criminal to have a seat and offer him an ice tea while I call 911. I'll end it before he climbs through my window.
Stop listening to the lying mainstream media. The gun manufacturers and the NRA does not flood the market without regard of who ends up with them. That's a lie. I'm an NRA member, it's a lie.
I wonder where all the guns come from ... I'm guessing they spontaneously reproduce themselves then.
Criminals can get guns, drugs, or anything they want off the black market. So taking guns, the right for law-abiding citizens to defend themselves and their families, will never take the guns away from the criminals. You should never want your rights taken away, just because there are criminals in the world.
I also think the biggest mistake, huge mistake, was closing down all the insane asylums.
We're going in circles. but I understand. It's a mystery where all those black market weapons come from and who opposes any restriction on production and control. You feel a need to arm and protect yourself and naturally want to prevent any restrictions. I fully agree there should be even more insane asylums on the road from Bedlam to Bellevue.
