So far this really feels like a real Winter in the City. It's been a long time since I recall snow hanging around for so long and so many days below freezing. Still waiting for this year's blizzard though.

Hey, I have people doing the shoveling, one of the advantages of living in an apartment building!

Total snowfall amount is expected to be four to eight inches, except up to 10 inches over the Poconos and northwest New Jersey.

Well we have about 5" on the ground with freezing rain coming down. Supposed to change to all rain and back to snow this evening. I think the snow plow will wait till evening, I like plowing in the dark....

You want a big blizzard Gunter? Maybe next Tuesday (2/3/09):

5" snow, 5 hours of rain with a few thunders thrown in, 2 hours on the tractors to clean up the mess. Snow thrower didn't like the rock wall........

Just in next tuesday we are looking at a noreaster with 2" of moisture over NYC, if it stays as snow that's a 2 footer Gunter!

Spring is on the  way! Spent the afternoon pruning the raspberry patch. Tried a severe pruning this year, was too much of a tangled mess in 08 to pick properly,

Seeded a flat of onion seeds, should have 128 plants. Some flowers were seeded also today along with seeds for a few Joshua Trees.

One grow light is on, there is one scraggly pepper plant I wintered over. It's 2+ years old now and is the last one from the wedding peppers I grew a few years ago. Clipped back and some fertilizer, it should do well this year.
