What a Mess!

To recap, trying to see if any of this makes sense:

Trump demanded a Special Master and got one.

One of his picks was one Judge Dearie, apparently acceptable to DOJ, which makes some wonder why Trump picked him to start. Was it a mistake or ...

Part of the order naming Judge Dearie is that DOJ can not investigate files marked classified.  DOJ is appealing that to a higher court. Pending.

The Special Master asks Trump lawyers for info on documents, simple questions about their classification status.

Lawyers tell the Special Master they can't talk about anything like that because it would disclose defense info (not the national one ... Trump's defense!) which he may need should he get indicted.

Some of the documents have personal scribbles on them, seems Trump is especially eager to prevent DOJ from looking at them, claiming at various times that the documents belong to him, have been declassified, fall under executive privilege or are just personal, whichever will work.

It's the Special Master's move.

Two strikes in one day.

First the NY Attorney General sues the Trump organization for $250 Million, naming all the Trumps, with possible criminal referrals.

Then the 11th Circuit Court  sides with DOJ and releases the classified documents with a scathing opinion totally demolishing all arguments Trump and gang have been parading.

On the other hand, I didn't know this, throws the court's ruling into question? 

Trump on some TV show today:

"If you're the president of the United States, you can declassify just by saying, 'it's declassified' — even by thinking about it."

Doesn't even need a wand!
