Habemus Specialis Magister !
What a Mess!
To recap, trying to see if any of this makes sense:
Trump demanded a Special Master and got one.
One of his picks was one Judge Dearie, apparently acceptable to DOJ, which makes some wonder why Trump picked him to start. Was it a mistake or ...
Part of the order naming Judge Dearie is that DOJ can not investigate files marked classified. DOJ is appealing that to a higher court. Pending.
The Special Master asks Trump lawyers for info on documents, simple questions about their classification status.
Lawyers tell the Special Master they can't talk about anything like that because it would disclose defense info (not the national one ... Trump's defense!) which he may need should he get indicted.
Some of the documents have personal scribbles on them, seems Trump is especially eager to prevent DOJ from looking at them, claiming at various times that the documents belong to him, have been declassified, fall under executive privilege or are just personal, whichever will work.
It's the Special Master's move.
Two strikes in one day.
First the NY Attorney General sues the Trump organization for $250 Million, naming all the Trumps, with possible criminal referrals.
Then the 11th Circuit Court sides with DOJ and releases the classified documents with a scathing opinion totally demolishing all arguments Trump and gang have been parading.
On the other hand, I didn't know this, throws the court's ruling into question?
Trump on some TV show today:
"If you're the president of the United States, you can declassify just by saying, 'it's declassified' — even by thinking about it."
Doesn't even need a wand!
I tried to tell you that, but you didn't believe me. I didn't understand that either, but it's true for all presidents. And the courts know it.
Maybe he declassified a lot more and people are running around now trying to figure out which ones are still classified or maybe not!
Following up on when Giuliani got slapped up here: https://forums.delphiforums.com/olt/messages?msg=1930.909
The slapper will have all charges dropped if he stays out of trouble for six months.
Maybe, but more so, they hate him beyond anything any of us have ever witnessed, that they don't care whether they lie, or use the courts and media, that they have in their pocket, to go after him at all costs.
Most Americans are sick of it, they just want this bs of Trump to go away, to end.
They know he has plans to run again. If their lies don't work, there is nothing off the table to stop him, even assassination. What the hell are they afraid of...
I'm no Giuliani fan, but they are going after any one, and everyone, that supported Trump.
Why don't they just drop it! That way, maybe, Trump and his supporters will go away.
I see where Putin gave Edward Snowden full Russian citizenship.
Now people are wondering if he's going to get conscripted to fight in Ukraine.
It's been a [insert your favorite adjective here] week.
I bet you didn't know States could declare war! (Michael Flynn)
The Special Master is tied up in court motions and countermoves. We need to see what the 11 Circuit rules next. Some people think declassifying documents via telepathy is perfectly normal, others are screaming jail time for the former guy.
Jail may be satisfying, but don't really want that spectacle.
Also note lots of influential missives have been penned in jail ... Letters to a Birmingham Jail, Conversations with Myself,
Our Lady of the Flowers ...mmm ... maybe that's not for everyone. Did you know Don Quixote was written in jail? Then there is Mein Kampf.
You never know how that works out.
Better he'd fade away like Nixon.
[Way back, my favorite aunt had a copy hidden in the attic and got very upset when I found it, Mein Kampf not Our Lady of the Flowers.]
