Free health care for all? Sounds great. How do we get there?
Does the government take over the hospitals? That works, kind of. The VA is such a system. It takes a lot of the greed out of health care. It takes profit out of the picture. The people will be happier but not the hospitals.
Free education means more doctors which brings down the top wages.
So over the next 20 to 50 years we move to a two-part system? We expand the VA to over the masses and let those who can pay for it get better doctors and services?
How do we pay for it? We tax the rich at 90%? Nobody needs to make hundreds of millions of dollars a year.
Does it really change who is at the top? Those greedy for power always rise to the top in any system. In any system politics becomes the art of telling people what they should think and make it appear to be their idea. Dictatorship of the working class is an illusion.
Hey I don't want you to get all carried away and bent out of shape.....but what are you asking these questions for? Many countries - in fact ALL the developed countries have health care. Canada included. And you are asking how that can work? Why don't you ponder how driving on only one side of the road could work?
What do you think about expanding the VA system to include those on welfare?
Veteran's Admin hospitals. As opposed to For Profit hospitals. The doctors w9ork for the government. The hospitals and clinics are owned by the government. Much like Socialism or Communism.
In For Profit hospitals every step in the system is trying to maximize their profits, from insurance to clinics, hospitals, doctors, labs, pharmacies, specialists .. all in all it makes a very expensive system.
In the VA system the government owns and runs everything. There is no profit motive. Just like in Socialism, communism, the UK or many other countries.
We are committed to this for profit system. It can not just go away by the stroke of a pen. Free health care for all is a nice goal but how do we get there from here?
Expand the VA system to cover those who can not afford the for profit system.
National health care is not "socialism." Not unless highways and schools are socialism. Yanks have a bizarre understanding (which in none) of the political spectrum.
National health care is not "socialism.
What system are you referring to?
I think we have chatted before - with a similar disconnect......... maybe I'll just say bye bye. Or do you want to work harder?
The USA has excellent health care, it is just expensive and not geared for welfare distribution.
Yes, we have good health care for those who can afford it, which is most white folks and the military. Are the rest of society disposable people? Do we just have too many people with too little value? What a horrible thought!
Let's just replace these children of a lesser god with robots. Let's offload the handicapped, blind, aged and stupid … oops, that's all of what I am.
