Wars and military concerns. Past, present and future.
Russia said it would shoot down any missiles we put up over Syria? Really? How did that work for them? Maybe Russia sold ancient generation technology to Syria? Good money paid for old crap? Does that make Russia a bad partner?
The French fired Storm Shadow missiles from Rafale and Mirage jets and cruise missiles from ships.
The UK fired Storm Shadow missiles from Tornado and Typhoon air craft.
The US fired JASSM cruise missiles from B1-B bombers and Tomahawk missiles from ships.
Nobody had to enter Syrian air space. 105 precision strikes from hundreds of miles away. Storm Shadow missiles have been the NATO standard for ... 20 years now (?), in one form or another. Development continues. It is a fire and forget missile. Programmed before firing with target information. Once fired it cannot be told to self destruct or be reprogrammed. If it can't find the target it looks for a safe place to crash.
