Yikes -this is an old post. I am so sorry to see that not many people are here these days.

This will be too late for Maxine but for others with this question about Night issues...use a pillow, try ice.

My guess is that it is not in a comfortable position. I don't think you are doing anything wrong.  Just

aim for straight body alignment.

Thanks for responding even to a very old post. Interestingly, I am still having problems at night. I am back to all my old activities, even horseback riding, but regardless of activity level that day, I wake up in pain in the new knee at least once every night. I change position, stretch and bend and can usually go right back to sleep. It is one year tomorrow!
