Joy,    How are you doing?     This site was such a help for so many of us.    As I just posted to 100 Catherine,   we all probably need the support of each other once again.    You are amazing!

I'm about to get a revision in a couple of months. How did you find you revision surgery vs your original TKR? Did you have a lot of bone loss that had to be "patched up"? How was the pain compared to the first? Did the recovery take much longer?

I too remember how active this board was back in the day (spring 2003 for me). It was so helpful knowing what to expect and to realize that there are many different outcomes.

I agree there isn't much activity on this site.  BUT.. I have 2 friends who are having TKR's and I've given them this website to let them know how great it really was for me and how helpful it was back in 2012.  And I had A LOT of questions, I was scared, wondering if I was doing everything right.  Many of you responded and helped me.

Hoping we'll see them on here soon.

Deb

This site does seem to be slowing down.  This time I tapped the bookmark that I had created some time ago and kept getting directed to a "go-daddy" wedsite, and it took some effort to get to this site.

Looking at old posts. How did your revision go? I am doing one tomorrow, 15 year old TKR came loose. Yes, I got so much info here in 2002 and 2007. Wish it were active now.

Sorry, I just noticed this post. I hope your surgery went well and that you are on your way to a complete recovery. I thought my revision was less painful that the original surgery. Maybe because I knew what to expect, but it was better and I was in the hospital a day less so that was good too. I hope that is the case for you as well.

I don't know if it is standard procedure, but for my revision the implant goes much further into my femur -- more metal for the metal detectors. I thought that was interesting.
