Can you clarify?  I wasn't aware that anyone did cut quads with this surgery. 

I had bilateral TKR in 2002, total revision of left in 2012, and partial revision of right in 2013  

No one ever mentioned cutting or not cutting quads  

Each time, I had OP  PT for several weeks afterward.

Sorry Jaborla, I am the wrong person to ask.  do know the quads were cut at times.  Probably Slooper John can help you.

I actually can't answer that one definitively.  My guess is that some surgeons who are more experienced can refrain from "cutting" the quads.  That maybe a reason why I never had any numbness.

I remember you well.    You, KnitterBetty, Joy,   Etc.    helped me through my journey in 2007.   Thank you!     I too am curious as to what the new advances are.   All of us see a revision in our near future.    Catherine, I'll keep you in my prayers.
