Why does one refer to .55 lbs and the other to 55 lbs. is one a typo or is it a coincidence that they both contain the same numbers?  The two regulations seem to be in opposition. What happens if an underage teen has a drone without an ID number?  He can they stop someone who is determined?  For size restrictions, wouldn’t they start selling drones under the size limits so people would continue to buy them?

The two weights apply todifferent uses,

Meanwhile, the rule allowing operations over people and at night applies to Part 107 operators of drones weighing less than 55 pounds.

Why do drones need to fly over people at night at all?

There may be times business and industrial drones may have to.

There should certainly be some kind of privacy we can rely on, but millions of photographs of people in crowds can now be identified by computer while we are shopping or on vacation.  There's no guarantee of  anonymity when millions of faces are daily posted on the Web.

You would think they would have more to do than spy on people.

I hope they don't waste time for that; many crimes are committed with only hints who they are looking for, possibly even someone who's otherwise wanted, and surveillance of an area in which a suspect is known to frequent, the places he goes, and the hours he is known to keep, could result in catching a suspect or even a cooperative witness who can point out a perpetrator.
