My brother and I gave my parents a Caribbean cruise for 2 present for their 50th wedding anniversary and they absolutely loved it. They went on two more cruises themselves after that as well and enjoyed both of them too.

Japan has a cruise line Asuka [https://www.asukacruise.co.jp/english/] which goes totally overboard for every enjoyment you can imagine. This is the one we originally wanted to take on a world cruise, but gave that one up. We may still go for a domestic "all around Japan" cruise instead, but have yet to decide what we're going to do. It will be next year earliest before we decide anything.

As for Hawaii... hmmm... already been there... done that... not bad, but I want something new... and local if possible. Maybe a Presidential suite at a local famous Japanese Onsen (hot water) Spa resort or something like that!

FWIW

Yep. Some of us haven't done vacations in a very long time due to perceived cost and too many things that need doing around the house.

Vacations are expensive unless you go camping. You can camp at home with all the outdoor space you have.

Yes. Vacations that the "Smart America"* can afford are well beyond my pay grade. And the working class often don't have the time, while the working poor have neither the time nor money and likely may never go on a "proper" vacation for their entire life.
