Then there are the rest of the "them". McConnell, McCarthy, Scalise, Jordan...they're still there too.

Oh, and in case you forgot, when the house or senate change majority from one party to another, the committees change leadership and sometimes are reconstructed completely.
No I haven't forgotten... but also don't forget that deep state has it's feet in both parties!

Yep... and probably a few of them are deep state too!
Especially McConnel but I doubt that Jordan is.

I read an article quite awhile ago about how Mitch bargained to keep some committees chairmanships when the Senate split 50-50. I meant to check then to see what committee chairmanships he saved but forgot.

Mitch is an establishment Republican and part of the deep state swamp.
He never really liked Trump and I never really liked him either.

McConnell also has deep ties to China. He should have retired years ago.

It's funny...my DH is from KY and has 8 sisters and 18 nieces/nephews and about 30+ great nieces/nephews. All voting age and all except one are registered Republicans and all deny ever voting for Mitch. I have one SIS that is a D. So political subjects seldom are discussed cause we're out numbered, hehehehe.

Wow... I bet that would be an awkward family gathering.
You are afraid to speak up about what's on your mind, but you have to listen to what everybody else is talking about like it or not!

No, politics are never discussed at family gatherings. LOL it takes hours and hours just to talk about whose kid is in college, who just had the new grandchild, who had gallbladder surgery.

How does he keep getting elected if no one votes for him? He is horrible.
