What the CDC should be doing right now is test the resilience of the new Omicron variant against the currently offered vaccines as well as to check whether those who have already have had Covid are also immune to this variant or not.

Sad thing is... regardless of what they do... very few people will believe their results... thanks to their past stance! The CDC has become yet another ineffective government organization thanks to politics and their politicization of Covid!

CDC Statement on B.1.1.529 (Omicron variant)

For Immediate Release: Friday, November 26, 2021

On?November?26, 2021,?the World Health Organization (WHO) classified?a new variant, B.1.1.529,?as a Variant of Concern and?has?named?it?Omicron. No cases of this variant have been identified in the U.S. to date. CDC is following the details of this new variant, first reported to the WHO?by South Africa. We are grateful to the South African government and its scientists who have openly communicated with the global scientific community?and continue to share information?about this variant?with the?U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and CDC.?We are working with other U.S. and global public health and industry partners to learn more about this variant, as we continue to monitor its path.

CDC is continuously monitoring variants and the U.S. variant surveillance system has reliably detected new variants in this country. We expect Omicron to be identified quickly, if it emerges in the U.S.

We know what it takes to prevent the spread of COVID-19. CDC recommends people follow prevention strategies such as wearing a mask in public indoor settings in areas of substantial or high community transmission, washing your hands frequently, and physically distancing from others. CDC also recommends that everyone 5 years and older protect themselves from COVID-19 by getting?fully vaccinated. CDC encourages a COVID-19 vaccine booster dose for those who are eligible.

Travelers to the U.S. should continue to follow CDC recommendations for traveling.

CDC will provide updates as more information becomes available.

Newscasters can’t pronounce Omicron correctly so they should skip the letter. They skipped Xi because there are too many names spelled Xi and they did not want to offend anyone.

The variant is very likely here. It is likely milder than previous.  It may be the last hurrah of the virus before it burns itself out. These are all things virologists are considering.  The WHO did a DNA test of the virus to isolate it.  We did not, so we don’t know. Now we are punishing Africa with no scientific basis.

They skipped Xi because China requested they skip it! They also skipped Nu as well.

What is wrong with Nu?

"'Nu' is too easily confounded with ‘new,’ and ‘xi' was not used because it is a common last name, and WHO best practices for naming disease suggest avoiding ‘causing offence to any cultural, social, national, regional, professional or ethnic groups,’" a WHO spokesperson told Fox News in a statement on Saturday.

I just heard on Japanese news that the new Phizer boosters are successful at stopping the omicron variant. Japan plans to start using the boosters from Mar. 2022.

Sorry that I don't have a link because I heard it on the TV news today.

Edited to add: [But can we trust what Phizer says? They said the original vaccine would stop Covid too!]

What if media reported that the 'vaccine' is not a vaccine?

Exclusive: Joel S. Hirschhorn looks at CDC's definition change, mandates, natural immunity

The Centers for Disease Control, or CDC, once was a federal agency that nearly everyone respected. That no longer is the case. Now there are many reasons why the CDC should be widely disrespected. With over 10,000 Americans dying weekly from COVID-19, the CDC is not protecting public health. Its latest debacle is how it changed the definition of "vaccine."

Just imagine this: The entire push for COVID "vaccines" was based on a lie – they did not meet the official CDC definition of a vaccine. Through deception, the government could coerce the entire population to get the shot. Calling them "vaccines" was the biggest lie from Anthony Fauci and the key to drug companies making many billions of dollars.

Why would the government's key public health agency change the definition of what a vaccine is in the midst of a pandemic? And after millions of Americans have taken the shot? Now millions more are being beaten into taking it for the first time and others to get booster shots.

Words matter

Here is the key point. It became widely recognized by medical experts and informed citizens that COVID vaccines clearly did not fit the official CDC vaccine definition. CDC thought the answer was not to fix what was deficient with the vaccines or stop their use by most people, as so many medical experts advised. The agency's response was to change the vaccine definition to fit the so-called vaccines.

This was done so that vaccine mandates could keep getting pushed by the government. Of course, the COVID "vaccines" should be referred to as gene therapy products, even more accurate than calling them experimental vaccines. As WND reported, A Bayer executive recently acknowledged that fact.

To see how corrupt this CDC action was, it is necessary to examine the details of the vaccine definition debacle.

Prior to Sept. 1, 2021, here is how the CDC defined vaccine:

A product that stimulates a person's immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease, protecting the person from that disease. Vaccines are usually administered through needle injections, but can also be administered by mouth or sprayed into the nose.

This definition had been used for years, and it makes sense. No expert or sensible citizen would find fault with it. But did it honestly apply to the COVID vaccines?

Weeks ago, this definition is what the CDC concocted:

A preparation that is used to stimulate the body's immune response against diseases. Vaccines are usually administered through needle injections, but some can be administered by mouth or sprayed into the nose.

Technically they are not vaccines in the traditional accepted sense of the word.

Showtalk said...

Technically they are not vaccines in the traditional accepted sense of the word.

So they technically redefine the traditional term to make it fit the new defined term in hopes of getting the mandate implemented, but thus far they are batting 0:4. Four stays have been granted by higher courts to nullify the mandate and there will probably be more.

I just wonder whether this new CDC re-definition of the word vaccine will make any difference in the courts or not.

It doesn’t really matter. All that is important to most people is whether they work or not.
