Democrats Bring Back the Salem Witch Trials

October 16, 2023
By Jim Betti

The hangman’s noose was around 60-year-old Salem Massachusetts resident Bridget Bishop’s neck, and she prepared to die.  Convicted of being a “witch,” she was sentenced to hang by the neck until she was dead.  There was no tangible evidence against Bridget.  The conviction was obtained based on “spectral evidence.”  Several young girls testified that Bridget had pricked them with pins.  In the courthouse, when Bridget looked at the young girls, they immediately threw themselves on the floor in apparent painful convulsions.  Their bodies twisted in unnatural ways. The witch-hunting judge reminded the frightened townfolk jury that the devil needed to be dealt with and for the jury to stick to their strict Puritan principles.

The ladder holding Bridget off the ground was pulled away.  She fell and slowly strangled, kicking hard.

Before the witch trials were finally ended, 12 more innocent individuals were convicted and hanged.  The spectral evidence accusers, corrupt judges, and complicit juries were never held accountable.

The elements needed for a witch hunt to occur are alive and well in 2023 America.  A cult-like philosophy and a corrupt judgment process with the power to convict and enforce punishment are essential.  A biased media establishment is also required (to misinform the public).  With these elements intact, all that is left to initiate the witch hunt is an unaccountable accuser.

1. The best modern-day example of a witch hunt is what happened to United States Supreme Court judge Brett Kavanaugh.

During his confirmation, after her social media accounts were scrubbed, Christine Blasey Ford came forth and accused the judge of sexual harassment.  Her bizarre, unsubstantiated story had its genesis in repressed high school memories.  Then two more female accusers surfaced.  Their vile accusations also lacked any substantiation.  The lack of any corroboration of the women’s stories didn’t matter to the cult-like progressive United States senators.  They had the power to put a figurative noose around Kavanaugh’s neck and had every intention to pull it tight.

The corrupt, biased media gleefully did their best to make the lynching happen.  The confirmation hearing crescendoed when Alaska’s Sen. Murkowski besmirched herself and gave the lynching of the innocent nominee her blessing.  If it had not been for the surprising courage of Maine senator Susan Collins, the ladder would have been pushed out from underneath Brett Kavanaugh, and he would have been left to dangle in the wind.

Under scrutiny, all three Kavanaugh accusers’ stories fell apart.  Their accusations were not at all different from the Salem witch accusers’ spectral arguments.  And just like the young female Salem witch accusers, there were no consequences.

2. American Universities have every element required to go witch-hunting.

Whenever a young man is accused of sexual harassment, these universities convene kangaroo courts.  Just like in 1692 Salem, these young men are not given due process or allowed to face their accusers.  Woke administrators are judges and jury and do not hesitate to bring harsh judgment on the defenseless accused.  Many real courts of law have overturned these abominations, but even with monetary settlements, the young men can never get back what these woke institutions have taken from them.

3. Anyone who works in corporate America knows that the elements of witch-hunting are available and embraced by woke administrators.

Any accuser can anonymously make claims against an employee.  Human resources officers afraid to fight the politically correct environment will not hesitate to act.  CEOs looking for ways to demonstrate their politically correct credentials will oversee the witch hunt inquisition.  Many helpless employees have felt the noose tighten around their necks.

But what has happened to Donald Trump gives a whole new relevance to the phrase “witch hunt.”

There are places in America where Donald Trump cannot get a fair trial or any type of court adjudication — places where progressives have total control of the entire judicial process and the elements required for a witch hunt thrive.

In New York City, a woman accused Donald Trump of raping her in a locked department store dressing room.  Incredibly, she was unable to remember in what year her life-altering event happened or re

Washington, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser Figures Out That Face Masks Are Fueling Crime

By Mike LaChance

Washington, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser has finally figured out that face masks give criminals an advantage.

The city had to repeal a decades old ban on face masks to mandate them during the Covid pandemic. Now they are trying to repeal the repeal.

Crime in the city is out of control, particularly carjackings.

The Washington Examiner reports:

Mayor Bowser admits that masks fuel crime waves

Forty years ago, the D.C. City Council was worried about a resurgence of the Ku Klux Klan, so they passed an anti-mask law.

Three years ago, the D.C. City Council was worried about police mistreatment of black residents (and worried about COVID) and so they repealed the anti-mask law as part of a “criminal-justice reform” package in the wake of George Floyd’s death at the hands of Minneapolis police.

Today, the mayor of Washington, D.C., is worried about the crime wave sweeping the district — particularly the surge in teenage criminals — and so she has proposed to restore the anti-mask law.

It’s quite a journey for the anti-mask law: It was passed to fight the KKK, repealed to fight racist policing, and now perhaps restored to protect the residents in mostly black neighborhoods. The law arguably violates the First Amendment, and it has never been consistently enforced. On the other hand, any honest observer will say that the rise in masking since mid-2020 has contributed to the crime wave in Washington, D.C., and some of the surrounding suburbs.

Just stunning.

How are people supposed to know who is wearing a mask for ‘health’ purposes? What a farce.

It took almost 4 years to figure out that masks hide identity while committing crimes?  Anyone who watches a TV crime drama knows that.  Anyone who has any sense knows that.  How is she still mayor?

They are coming down harder on crime now? I don’t believe it.

Only because it's before the 2024 elections to make them look like they're doing something about crime.

They need to make people think they're working for them until the elections.

Then, once they've won... they go back to the old lax on crime policies again.

When the Democrats say it's 'not about some twisted culture war.'...

What they mean is that it 'is abote some twisted culture war.'...

Otherwise, their actions cannot be explained. If it's not a culture war, then why are they doing this?

Michigan Senate votes to replace the word ‘woman’ in state breastfeeding law

Despite the bill's changes, Democrat sponsor Jeff Irwin claimed it was 'not about some twisted culture war.'

LANSING, Michigan (LifeSiteNews) — The Michigan Senate voted to make the state’s breastfeeding law “gender neutral” by removing the words “woman” and “she” from a 2014 measure on the books affirming a right to breastfeed in public.

The Daily Wire reported that the change came attached to SB 351, a bill to update the law to also cover pumping breast milk, in which Democrat state Sen. Jeff Irwin also replaced references to females with “individual.”

In response, Republican state Sen. Michele Hoitenga introduced an amendment that would allow the new bill’s substantive changes while preserving the existing law’s female-specific language, noting that “as far as I’m aware, women, specifically mothers, are the only people who can breastfeed or pump milk.”

But the amendment failed a party-line vote, with Irwin claiming his original bill was “not about some twisted culture war” – despite SB 351, a bill spanning less than a page, actively replacing six different uses of sex-specific language.

The Midwesterner added that six Republicans ultimately supported Irwin’s non-amended, “gender-neutral” version of the bill. One of those Republicans, state Sen. John Damoose, claimed he “oppose[s] all woke initiatives that fail to recognize the biological differences between traditional genders,” and “would not have supported” SB 351 if it did any such thing.

“Changing the word ‘woman’ to ‘individual’ is just a policy of the Legislative Services Bureau that is occurring every time any piece of legislation is opened and has zero to do with the purpose of this bill,” Damoose claimed. “Other examples of this policy include changing ‘marijuana’ to ‘cannabis’ and ‘voters’ to ‘electors.’”

Not every Republican sees it that way, however.

“Senate Democrats took a relatively non-controversial policy bill, a bill extending the right for women to breastfeed in public to also include pumping breast milk, and made it controversial by replacing the word ‘woman’ with ‘individual,’” said Jeff Wiggins, spokesman for state Senate Minority Leader Aric Nesbitt.

According to modern biology, sex is not a subjective sense of self but an objective scientific reality, established by an individual’s chromosomes from the earliest moments of existence and reflected by hundreds of genetic characteristics. For years, however, LGBT activists have worked to promote “gender fluidity,” the idea that sexual identity is separate from biology and discernible only by personal perception, across public education, libraries, health care, and cultural traditions such as beauty contests, school homecomings, and athletic competitions.

Critics say their efforts have yielded a wide array of harms, both to the physical and mental health of gender-confused individuals themselves as well as to the rights, health, and safety of those who disagree, such as girls and women forced to share intimate facilities with males, female athletes forced to compete against biological males with natural physical advantages, and individuals forced to affirm false sexual identities in violation of their consciences, their understanding of scientific fact, and/or in the case of religious Americans, their belief in Genesis 1:27, which teaches that God created both sexes in His image.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) suggests men who identify as women can “chestfeed” infants by taking pharmaceuticals to replicate a woman’s natural production of breast milk, prompting criticism from doctors who accuse the agency of elevating political ideology above sound science and babies’ health.
