Teachers' unions trained educators to 'indoctrinate' students with 'radical progressive ideology': Report

CANDACE HATHAWAY
August 17, 2023

In August report from the Defense of Freedom Institute, a conservative nonprofit organization, revealed that teachers' unions trained their members to "indoctrinate" students with "radical progressive ideology" despite outspoken opposition from parents.

DFI's latest report, "Summer of Woke, The Sequel," follows a 2022 report that exposed the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers for pushing "racialized" school policies and gender ideology. Last year's report also accused the NEA and AFT of lobbying for abortion.

According to the DFI, the 2022 report drummed up negative press for the NEA, leading it to take steps to "conduct its 'New Business Items' in secret" during its annual meeting this year.

The nonprofit accused the NEA, the nation's largest teachers' union, of being "out of step with the public regarding policy goals" and hypersensitive to criticism.

US Military Veterans...

They're all well versed on our Constitution, they've fought to defend our country on multiple occasions, and they're well aware of our history (past battles we entered, why we entered, and the outcomes of those battles).

California is now requiring all children to be taught in both English and Spanish. So what will they do with teachers who can’t speak Spanish?

Do they require the teachers to speak Spanish? This statement only says all children will be taught in English and Spanish.

They only want to hire bilingual teachers but doesn’t that discriminate against teachers who can’t learn another language well enough to teach in it or who speak a different second language? When I was helping a neighbor with her foster teenagers, they told me they and all their friends were studying Japanese. They had no interest in Spanish, they wanted to speak and read in Japanese. Some of that had to do with wanting to play Japanese video games, but also because it was cool for them.

That sounds racist towards Spanish and against any other language.

Bilingual teachers should not be a problem... requiring only one language presents a racist quagmire for all the other 180 languages around the world. Where is the ACLU when you need them? (* CHUCKLE *)

Exactly. Why Spanish? Because the greatest number of immigrants speak Spanish and the schools can’t teach them. It’s not to help English speakers, it’s to solve the growing problem of unreachable students in their schools.

It is interesting as there are a number of families from middle eastern countries who are real asylum seekers. From our botched withdrawal in Afghanistan. From other countries. Those children are enrolled in public schools and are expected to learn English. Will they now be forced to learn Spanish instead? How does that help them acclimate to their new home?
