Well, if they don't maintain the charging stations they have in the inner-city area, or those stations are vandalized, EVs won't do much even for short trips outside of the range you can reach after charging at home... assuming you still have power!

Solar panels for personal use... yes, but they will not replace fossil fuel generation even if combined with wind power.

And if fewer people can drive, fewer people can go to work.
Better look at the link above, they want everyone using public transportation, because Agenda 21 is all about people living closer to cities in smaller dwellings and returning much of countries back to nature where no one except certain people can visit. I think GHWB got us into this crap with the UN. It's real is alive just like the Climate change stuff at the UN. It's called a conspiracy theory, but it isn't...There is a map showing what the US would look like if this were implemented.

The only problem is that to move everybody out of the country side and into or near larger city dwellings, multiple new condominiums would have to be built. This would allow those to be housed near the city center. However, they also don't have the mass transportation that would be required to move all those people into the bigger cities so they would have to build new subway rail and bus services. Not to mention that these new condominiums along with the subways will all require electricity, and the current power grid just won't support that at this time, so the entire power grid would also have to be replaced.
All of these require massive amounts of monies and quite a bit of time to build.
Request to build a new condominium/apartment complex. After four years of EPA investigation, they determine that the building they want to build doesn't meet certain new regulations, so another 2 years is consumed to re-design the new condominium/apartment complex to include solar panels on the roof and sides of the building increasing the cost. Finally, after about 10 years or more, the complex gets approved, and construction starts. That's just for the building complex. Then they need approval for the new subway or other rail service, all the new buses must be electric too. Those subways and EV buses need electricity, but current grid just won't support it all, so a new grid has to be implemented. So, they draw plans for a new grid, spend another 8-10 years getting it approved and well... you end up with one totally unsustainable crazy idea after another.
Not to mention that the cost of renting one of those condominiums would probably be $5,000/month or more, so nobody could afford to move into them!
ROFLMAO...
