They ar best for short trips around town, not driving distances.

Well, if they don't maintain the charging stations they have in the inner-city area, or those stations are vandalized, EVs won't do much even for short trips outside of the range you can reach after charging at home... assuming you still have power!

Solar panels.

Solar panels for personal use... yes, but they will not replace fossil fuel generation even if combined with wind power.

UK Forced to Use Emergency Coal Generators for First Time as Green Energy Fails to Keep Up

Smoke and steam bellows from the chimneys and cooling towers of Ratcliffe-on-Soar coal fired power station, owned and operated by Uniper at Ratcliffe-on-Soar in Nottinghamshire, England. The plant emits 810 million tonnes of CO2 annually. It has a generating capacity of 2,116 MW, enough electricity to meet the needs of …Andrew Aitchison / In pictures via Getty Images

The United Kingdom has been forced to use its emergency coal-fired backup generators for the first time as renewables failed to supply enough energy.

Britain’s crusade for net zero saw another major failure on Tuesday, with the country having to resort to using its emergency coal-fired power plants as renewables were unable to keep up with demand.

The country has been focused on moving away from burning fossil fuels and towards green energy sources in recent years, with the last twelve months in particular seeing the country struggle to keep the lights on at times due to the green agenda of its Conservative Party government.

However, with it becoming clear that Britain’s new sources of power cannot keep up with the old, the country has kept some coal-burning power plants — those few it has not short-sightedly demolished — operational and in reserve, ready to start supplying power to the energy grid should the more eco-friendly sources start to fail.

According to the BBC, such a last resort had to finally be deployed on Tuesday, with two of the plants providing Britons with energy once again after green energy facilities failed to perform.

A total of five separate coal-fired power stations were put on standby yesterday, with two needing to be used in order to keep the energy grid stable.

The use of the power plants represents a new low for the Conservative Party’s green energy agenda, a project that has cost everyday Britons a substantial amount of money and the country much of its energy security over the last 12 months.

Despite receiving near unanimous support from the senior Tories sitting in government, renewables in Britain have proven unable to take over from fossil fuel-burning methods of energy generation.

This has resulted in the United Kingdom having to develop fossil-fuel-based failsafes for the British energy grid, keeping coal power plants on standby in order to ensure a minimum supply of power throughout the country.

Even this has, at times, not been enough, with Britain also now having a system of voluntary power rationing in place, where poorer energy customers are paid not to use electricity at certain peak-usage times during the day.

Dreamt up in 2022, the rationing system saw its first real deployment in January this year, with some energy customers paid to minimise electricity use between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. in order to help avert a possible collapse of the energy grid.

And if fewer people can drive, fewer people can go to work.

Better look at the link above, they want everyone using public transportation, because Agenda 21 is all about people living closer to cities in smaller dwellings and returning much of countries back to nature where no one except certain people can visit. I think GHWB got us into this crap with the UN. It's real is alive just like the Climate change stuff at the UN. It's called a conspiracy theory, but it isn't...There is a map showing what the US would look like if this were implemented.

The only problem is that to move everybody out of the country side and into or near larger city dwellings, multiple new condominiums would have to be built. This would allow those to be housed near the city center. However, they also don't have the mass transportation that would be required to move all those people into the bigger cities so they would have to build new subway rail and bus services. Not to mention that these new condominiums along with the subways will all require electricity, and the current power grid just won't support that at this time, so the entire power grid would also have to be replaced.

All of these require massive amounts of monies and quite a bit of time to build.

Request to build a new condominium/apartment complex. After four years of EPA investigation, they determine that the building they want to build doesn't meet certain new regulations, so another 2 years is consumed to re-design the new condominium/apartment complex to include solar panels on the roof and sides of the building increasing the cost. Finally, after about 10 years or more, the complex gets approved, and construction starts. That's just for the building complex. Then they need approval for the new subway or other rail service, all the new buses must be electric too. Those subways and EV buses need electricity, but current grid just won't support it all, so a new grid has to be implemented. So, they draw plans for a new grid, spend another 8-10 years getting it approved and well... you end up with one totally unsustainable crazy idea after another.

Not to mention that the cost of renting one of those condominiums would probably be $5,000/month or more, so nobody could afford to move into them!

ROFLMAO...

Wala: An impossible wet dream at best... and a nightmare at worst!

Electric Car Manufacturers Remove AM Radios Claiming Safety Concerns

ALANA MASTRANGELO
13 Mar 2023

Some electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers are scrapping the AM radio from their cars, claiming safety concerns. Although conservative talk radio dominates AM radio ratings, it is also considered a critical safety tool, as it is one of the primary ways that federal, state, and local officials communicate with the public during natural disasters and other emergencies.

Automakers such as Ford and Tesla have ditched the AM radio from their newer EV models, arguing that the motors on EVs interfere with AM frequencies, creating buzzing and signal fading, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.

But former emergency officials are warning that scrapping the AM radio would mean EV drivers could miss important safety alerts.

Seven former Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) administrators said in a Sunday letter — obtained by WSJ — to Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and several congressional committees that the government should seek assurances that automakers will keep the AM radio in their vehicles.

FEMA says that more than 75 radio stations are equipped with backup communications and generators that allow them to continue broadcasting information to the public amid an emergency.

“Should this continue, it will represent a grave threat to future local, state, and federal disaster response and relief efforts,” the letter read.

The former FEMA officials added that while drivers can use their smartphones to tune into certain radio stations, the signal that allows them to do so aren’t as reliable as AM radio during emergencies.

Last fall, Ford said it would be removing AM radio from newer 2023 model year F-150 Lightning electric trucks, citing AM radio frequencies.

“The frequencies involved in AM radio tend to be directly affected by the electromagnetic noise in EV propulsion systems,” Ford said.
