Yes, some are slowly reducing the mandates for vaccinated people while others are not.

Some of the country’s largest retailers will still require masks inside stores despite the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) decision to loosen mask wearing for fully vaccinated individuals.

Business Insider reported Friday: “Macy’s, Target, and Starbucks are among those saying they’ll still make masks mandatory for shoppers and workers in their stores.” Other companies that told the publication they will keep their mask mandates for now include:

• Kroger
• Home Depot
• Publix
• Dollar General

The report also identified several companies that are evaluating their policies in light of the CDC announcement but have not yet made any changes:

• Walgreens
• CVS
• Gap
• Ulta

Nothing like mask confusion between stores. How can anyone keep them all straight?

It's called coordinated confusion and they're all implementing it quite well from the White House on down. And then a few weeks later, some retract their previous statements, others change their previous statements while yet others think up something new to confuse you with!

Coordination confusion is the only word I could think of that describes it properly.

In the military, it's referred to as a cluster f###!

Too many “experts” as well as others weighing in.

And just like with restaurants... too many chefs spoil the taste!

Allowing mask restriction to be eased for those who have been vaccinated is good, but I'm afraid those who refuse to take the vaccine will take this as a sign that the pandemic is over and prompt them to get back to reckless behavior.  We're approaching the finish line but we're not there yet so we still have to take precautions.

I’m very concerned that people who aren’t vaccinated will stop taking precautions.   It we also have free will to make personal decisions that affect us.  I worry less about masks than about sick people going out and spreading the illness because they aren’t concerned about it.

When people are fully vaccinated a mask does literally nothing.

no vaccine is 100% effective. Also, with flu season coming up and allergy season upon us, it is a good habit to keep when circumstances dictate it. Also, some vaccinated people who are immune compromised should still wear them as they are more susceptible to re-infection

I'm still wearing mine indoors. Even though my state adopted the new guidelines, many stores and other indoor venues are still requiring masks from employees and customers. Of course, health clinics and hospitals also still wear them.

in my state of NM, Costco is still requiring masks, although the state adopted the new guidelines. I was there Friday, and I only saw one customer with her mask below the chin.

We are hoping to get to 60% fully vaccinated by June. We are currently at 53.4% fully vaccinated and 63.8% with one dose. The current focus is on getting 12-15 year olds vaccinated by the fall - only at 10% right now, but only Pfizer can be given to them and we've only started with that.
