We will have herd immunity sooner because our vaccine program started earlier.  It’s ironic the feds lifted restrictions but the very liberal governors will not.

Given the experience where I am I can't say I blame the liberal Governors, Manitoba is now the second highest case count per capita in all of north america...that's saying something, and we have a robust vaccination program and when we loosened restrictions everything went off the rails as only the liberal minded of us knew it would, Ontario is just as bad in total lockdown with even greater vaccinations with a Conservative Provincial Government too and they aren't lightening up until early June, if then. 

To this I blame people, there are just far too many stupid, stubborn morons walking around claiming their freedom is being taken away and holding these ridiculous rallies, too many people who can't be bothered to wear a mask properly, too many people seeing too many other people with no conception that their personal activities could affect anyone else, so it's not surprising to me in the slightest.

When people are fully vaccinated a mask does literally nothing. So it’s not about keeping people healthy anymore, which is why the CDC made the new recommendations. The new waves happened before vaccines.

As you said earlier, you're further along than we are, we're finally getting to a very fast clip on vaccinations but we're only doing first shots, second shots start May 2nd, here we'll be in restrictions until late July I think, based on what I've read so far.

Yes, some are slowly reducing the mandates for vaccinated people while others are not.

Some of the country’s largest retailers will still require masks inside stores despite the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) decision to loosen mask wearing for fully vaccinated individuals.

Business Insider reported Friday: “Macy’s, Target, and Starbucks are among those saying they’ll still make masks mandatory for shoppers and workers in their stores.” Other companies that told the publication they will keep their mask mandates for now include:

• Kroger
• Home Depot
• Publix
• Dollar General

The report also identified several companies that are evaluating their policies in light of the CDC announcement but have not yet made any changes:

• Walgreens
• CVS
• Gap
• Ulta
