Could we have a poll for most-hated words and phrases? One of mine is "ramped up."  Don't know why but it makes my teeth hurt.

PS I have TWO purple pens but don't write purple prose. (sorry I had to lol)

Pencils make a noise when moved across paper that is akin to nails on a blackboard. 

At work, I constantly use a ball pen. And as shirts have pockets in them, I always put it in my shirt pocket.

Some work coats, like lab coats, have pockets and actually have two or three places on the side of your arm where you can actually clip 2 or 3 ball pens on them as well.

I had a lab coat and also an assortment of scrub tops and pants. Some of the pants had special pockets for things like pens. I never had a problem with ink leaking though. I did take care to empty all my pockets before laundering them because I'd take home an assortment of things like paper clips, bandaging tape, cotton swabs, etc.  My favourite pens were the ones we got from the drug reps--funny the nicest pen was a pink one from Viagra, lol.

I have no idea. It’s relatively new, so I’m not sure why red ink is a problem.  If they switched to purple then that would become a triggering color. I’m worry about a generation of children like that becoming adults.

Yes I can make a poll of most hated phrases, but I would need to know what to include. It’s an intriguing idea. Sorry I didn’t see this when you posted. I’m usually here regularly but I have company and the weather has been worse than usual.

I worry likewise. If you shelter them from every little thing how are they going to handle a real crisis?

He was a businessman appointed by the Board of Governors of such things but apparently not through the normal route; his name was suggested by some Lord High Muckety-Muck.  Apparently he was  a donor to the GOP party and a fan of the former Commander in Chief.  IMO, he's so up his own arse his mustache could tickle the back of his throat but you didn't hear that from me :-)

They want the government or someone else to handle life for them.
