I am contacting my governor. The schmucks. Each of my children graduated with $30k debt, and that is after I paid $60k+ for each!!! For a freaking state school! I have a third in college now, also on the way to that much or more, and a fourth in 6 years.

Wow!;  Makes me glad I had a dog!

My kids piss me off sometimes, because they complain that we don't have our big house and such. ( I lost my job about 8 years ago, and started my own company, so we downsized). But, they don't take into account all the money I paid for them and for their well being. Even if they didn't have brand new cars, they had good cars, they went to good schools. We just gave a down payment for my daughter and two sons to buy a house in the city she is going to school, so she doesn't have to continue paying ridiculous dorm or rent prices. I look back at all the money spent on daycare, school, sports, etc, and no lie, I would be $2m or more, richer. And, I would have taken more risks, moved to different areas, countries, etc. not that I don't love my children, but they are freaking expensive!

I'm a firm believer in spending the money on them while I'm alive... and not after I'm dead.   I enjoy spoiling my kids and my grandkids.  You can't take the money with you, so if you have spend it.  Now if you don't have it and you go into debt.. that's a different ballgame.  Just my opinion.  You are a good Mom too.   Kids don't understand until they get older that's when they will appreciate everything you've done for them.  I always thank my parents for all they've done for me and my siblings.  Wait till you have grandchildren...you will spoil them too.  You betcha!  ;)

Oh, I have no problems spending it on them, and always will. But, sometimes, they don't understand how expensive it is to raise a family. I was determined to help them in every way I can. So, one way is to help them buy houses they can rent out now and later sell if they wish. And, of course, education! That's non-negotiable. They have to get a degree

As I stated... they will once they get older, they will appreciate everything you did for them.  Yes.... education is extremely important in today's society.  My sons are well off so I no longer worry about them...it's the time to spoil the grandkids, and  I love seeing their faces light up when you give them presents.  And I love the hugs and kisses you get.  :)

A constitutional convention is a terrible idea. I hope it never happens.

Amendments to the constitution should be extremely difficulty to achieve, and should require ratification by three fourths of the state legislatures.

You don't believe the current one is hopeless?

I'm sorry I missed it. I liked Paul, even when he was hyper excitable. He was a good person with a heavy load to bear.
