I found this in AP yesterday, and it is disturbing to say the least:

NEW YORK (AP) - Two men were arrested on charges they planned to
sell body parts of prisoners executed in China, spotlighting
longstanding complaints from human rights groups about trade in
human organs. "Trafficking and profiteering in human organs is
ghoulish, criminal conduct that imperils the most vulnerable," U.S.
Attorney Mary Jo White said in a statement Monday.

The men - Cheng Yong Wang, 41, and Xingqi Fu, 35, both of
Flushing, Queens - were arrested Friday. The complaints alleged they
tried to sell corneas, kidneys, livers, skin, pancreases and lungs
   for transplant.

China, btw denies that they do organ sales, but Amnesty International says the percentage of transplanted kidneys in China estimated to come from executed prisoners was as high as 90 percent.

In Texas the people who were executed committed crimes, horrible crimes. China
kills the opposition.

And I can think of a few other countries worse than Texas. They are still
killing each other in Rwanda on the basis of tribal connection. The old rulers
and the new rulers of Congo kill off the opposition - 'legally' under martial
law. Mexican soldiers kill of whole villages for no apparent reason other than
that they are Indians and want to have equal rights.....

Texas also seems determined to kill those who are later determined to likely be innocent based on post trial discovery.

Several attorneys and I discussed that very subject this morning. We could not
come up with one instance in the last 10 years were a person got executed who
turned out to be innocent. There were several people who were let go after
being found innocent, however. One was on death row.

To say, Texas is determined, even 'seems' determined to kill those....innocent
is not supported by fact.

Reread the posts in this forum that I posted a few months back on specific cases. You may have been overseas at the time. We posted a number of specific details about various cases. It is pretty well accepted that a number of executions of innocent people have occured. You can do a text search on the text side of Delphi with the command:

     DIR fulltext "death"

You will have hundreds of posts to read.

I did and found one one instance, Leonel Torres who may be innocent yet was
executed in Texas.

Okay - I am agaisnt the death penalty for just that reason. But That does not
put Texas on par with China.

not at all Oky....Chinas record on human rights is a very different issue as opposed to Texas' stance on the death penalty.

Glen overexaggerated a wee bit ;)
