Hiiiiii miss Susan! Yay! the day off and clay, perfect. Beads are fun for getting back into it, I think - and especially if you already know you like making them. Also, how about buttons? You will see the lovelies that Tina made here, they are pretty.

Even just mixing colors can get your mind moving in the right direction. I hope you will have fun with it, that's the most important thing. :)

Hi Susan - good to see you here.

Like Jackie, I thought of buttons, too, but I also love making shawl pins to go with my knitted neck warmers. Go ahead and knead your clay and inspiration will come to you, I'm sure.

I've been going thru my claying supplies and can't believe how much I have! Also searched Pinterest for button ideas...it's so easy to get lost down bunny trails there, lol. But I'm bursting with ideas now. Coffee first then time to play :)

Thank you, Eva! It's so nice to be back seeing familiar "faces!" You are so right about a shawl pin. Now...what color? Do you think clay alone will make a strong enough pin or should I cover a stick? I haven't been this enthusiastic about claying in quite a while. I woke up early with ideas swirling in my head!

I use a heavy gouge brass wire or a shortened bamboo skewer covered in clay for my pins. Havent had any of them bend or break.

Thank you...I will try that then. My first attempt was a bust. I had a donut shaped ring that I laid over a toilet paper roll to give it a curve. I turned my back for a few minutes and it had flopped off and was flat. Tried to put it back and it snapped :( So back to the drawing board lol

It's great to hear you are inspired, Susan - doesn't it feel good? I'm popping with ideas ever since TAD started!

Yes, it does! I have about 6 projects in mind after browsing Pinterest. And that hasn't happened in years! The most obvious technique for me to pursue today is using old dry clay in the extruder...cause I have lots of old clay :) and lots of unused scrap. Good grief, I can't seem to throw out even the tiniest scrap. I found all the cane ends from my very first cane still covered with plastic that is all withered from plastisizer. I forced myself to throw away some really ugly beads that I know beyond a shadow of doubt neither I nor any other will want. No sense keeping crap. On to newer and better stuff!

Yeah, I've learned to throw stuff away - even raw clay at times. If I find dry old clay, it just goes into the trash now, and it's very uplifting. :) Also, stuff I made at first that is very sweet for all the effort I put in, but - it's ugly! Trash time.

I have been gone for a long time, dealing with my Mother passing in 2013 and am just now in the New Year of 2016 committing myself to being more active in my Polymer Clay pursuits. I would certainly hate to see any of this go by the wayside.  I Have made a ring and a bracelet so far this year so it is an improvement over 2014 when I literally made nothing.  I cannot imagine making something every day.  That is an enormous challenge, but I am sure some you are up to it.
