Can someone tell me if there is a difference in using repel gel to do a batik on clay I have masking fluid and think it is interchangeable Thank you

Repel gel is a thick stuff (think a lot like vaseline). I don't think you could paint it on like resist and get any kind of detailed result.

I would use masking fluid for a batik look.  Repel Gel might be too thin and/or might not hold up as a resist - depending on what you're using as a colorant...  Repel Gel is good when you don't want to clay pieces to stick together - not the same as creating a mask...

Let us know what sort of results you get with whatever you try...
