Thank you!!  I'm just not sure what part would be considered the thickest...like would I consider all the way across the pea pod the thickest part?  Or is each ball considered separately?  And do I measure all the way across the ball or from center out?  Thanks again!

Melissa, I'd probably measure all the way from the bottom of the pea pod where the baby's "feet" would be up to the top of their heads. That's probably the measurement across the thickest "chunk/section" of PC. The timing isn't a "gotta be exact " type of thing. Assuming that you've checked your oven temperature with a separate thermometer for 30 minutes and tented to protect against browning (especially of light colors) you can cure much longer than the recommended directions. People often build a sculpture in pieces, curing, adding pieces using TLS, curing again, etc, so there shouldn't be a problems with curing a bit of extra time....just keep periodically checking for browning until you know what to expect from your oven. Hope this helps.

I'd bake that for an hour in a preheated (but you MUST have a separate oven thermometer in your oven to be sure of the temp!) 275 degree oven, in a baking pan, covered well.

We have to remember to cure our clay completely or it will break eventually.

If you are baking in a small oven (toaster oven), being sure no part of your sculpture is too near a heating element is important. I bake in my big home oven so it's not something I have to think about when I bake.
