Hi all!

I am currently inspired by the July/August PCC challenge theme. I gathered up components (clay +) https://www.dropbox.com/sc/m9eth9lnzhumw3g/AADlzAkDZN3gLyp94rAvkx34a

and, here is the first tile out of the batch.

Its likely destination will be my office desk.

"Mixed media celebration of Red, White & Blue"

Cheers,

Here you can see a concept photo using some scrap wood to frame the door way. https://www.dropbox.com/s/l63v5f80mlgn4cl/TilesDoorwayConcept.jpeg?dl=0

I've found some nice white PVC 1x6 boards that will better serve in an outdoor application. Now I'm thinking about how to attach the tiles. https://www.dropbox.com/s/pywjh6oc7x8ctdb/TilesOnWhite.jpeg?dl=0

Part of me wants the ability to rearrange them at whim , but that's got so many issues wrapped up in it, not the least of which is irregular sizes.

Plastic to plastic bonding is pretty challenging so i don't adhesives will be the answer.

i'm leaning towards some kind of tiny hook and eye rig but haven't actually tried anytthing yet.

for the time being, i've got the tiles laid out on the patio and i'm enjoying the looking and rearranging and looking and rearranging.

The tiles look great all put together like that - I can understand the thrill you get from rearranging and looking. (I never made tiles in clay like that, but made a few crocheted blankets from scrap yarn granny squares). Your hook and eye hanging solution sounds like a good idea

FYI - I edited your post to fix the second link. There was a hiccup in the one you wrote.

I finally got my dropbox issues sorted out and am able to post links that will work.

Here's a photo of the first  finished panel hung by the doorway. https://www.dropbox.com/s/noqv6uqh4nx8eb9/OneFinishedPanel.jpeg?dl=0.

I settled on permanent bonding using a gel cyanoacrylate adhesive (thick super glue). Just a dab in each corner so I can likely remove them if needed in future.

Work in progress : I really like the ruffled flower cluster in the corner.

Not sure where it's going; I have been staring at it for a week now....

Oh, I like this one...great colors and design! I do understand the staring and sitting thing. Almost all of my projects have to be stared into submission too, lol.
