PACKINGHOUSE

One of the hardest things to purge are mementos - "Auntie Sophie gave me that!" but you have no use or space for it, an organizational guru said: take a picture of it. And give it to someone who can use it. Unless it is truly special. But if you are going to put it in a closet or storage locker: purge!  Why keep niece Annie's macaroni sculpture?  Digital storage - and out the door. Anything not used in last year and still have it: purge. We don't need 12 platters - we hardly use ONE. Purge! Think of the mental space!  And having to clean and lugging it around and paying to ship it! I can buy a platter - if I really need one more - at goodwill for under $5! Purge!

It is hard. But worth it. Having 'stuff' is  almost an American addiction!

REFRESHINGLY

Jo, I think that having too much "stuff" is an quirk for most of us in North America. I'm in Canada and it applies to me as well. Lately I have been taking photos of things and then donating the items.  My vice is Christmas decorations - I have so many that they take up half the storage toom in my basement.

GUILLOTINE

Yes, Deb. My sister is one. Shechas a drop-leaf dining table that sits 8 in her bedroom - cannot be ooened for dining! For the kids when she dies: they don't want it now.  (Sigh) One can barely move around in her apt.  Stuff!

OVERCONFIDENT

I am gradually getting rid of things as we'd like to move when my husband retires and we want to lighten the load before then.  My sister-in-law's garage is too full of "stuff"  - they must park both vehicles outside, even in winter - crazy!

FAMILIARIZE

Hi Deb, sorry I didn't answer when I first got up as usual, but Laeo-hopefully my new landlord, sent me six short videos of the house-and I love it.  The only problem is that the paint on the living room is light blue-so I asked Laeo if I could paint it mauve or off white-my expense of course-and on down the road.  I so hope I get a positive call today.  Cross your fingers for me.

I have some neck pain this morning, but better than yesterday.  I am hoping the tramadol knocks it out-how are you?

Hugs,

Rhonda

HOMEOWNERS

Hi Rhonda, that's great that Laeo sent the videos - I will have my fingers crossed that you get the house! I'm glad to hear that your neck pain is not as bad today - hope the Tramadol gets rid of it.

I'm still dealing with pain in my back and knee but I just took something - maybe it will help.

ALTERNATIVE

Hi Rhonda, I'm sure that you're anxiously awaiting a call or email from Laeo about the house. I so hope that you get it!  I have to go for groceries today and then I will do some more packing. It is getting very warm and humid out - naturally since we closed up the pool - LOL!

Hi Deb, it is warm here as well-but not warm enough yet for the AC.  That is nice.
