No appt yet, my doc is ill so have to wait.  No rush on treatment for it yet.

I just returned from a funeral of a neighbor. He passed of AML, same thing that Linda has. What are the odds of two neighbors getting the rarest blood disease?  I'm wondering if radon gas contributed as I had to pay for radon removal when I sold the house 14 years ago.

Good luck on the tests and throw on another blanket to keep warm.

My mother broke another shoulder socket. Gotta travel back down in 4hrs for the surgery.  I took her to the hospital a day before.

Then I stopped for gas in WV, I noticed cigarettes were still only $4.88 a pack for marboros.  Holy cow, they are $8 a pack here in my state.  I longingly looked at that price for about 10 secs ;p

Take care sweetie.

Wow Rich to people beside each other with same thing. It must be hard knowing Linda cant recover her shoulder but your mother still gets mended.I would expect Linda to be growly about that.

Its still so cold and if it wasnt for my most amazing neighbour who comes down daily to light and tend my fire, brings in wood and checks to see if I am Ok i do not believe I would make it through winter on my own.

I thank God or who ever for the special care this family man gives me.I wake misrable some days but then I am truly grateful that someone has lit the fire and the jug is boiling. One day he made my pot of tea and I sat at the table. He sat quietly until I felt better.

Just like this forum a listening ear and support can be so healing and supportive.

Heres hoping you get an OK from your doc.No report for me yet just the daily "I can make it step by step"

Hugs and thoughts to you both

Triff

Thank you, sweet Karen :D, I just keep getting virus or cold/flus from these hospital visits. Up all night coughing but I was riding yesterday in 69F, pretty cold in the face @ 70mph and I left without a helmet on. Today I barely got up and am off to midtown to meet a friend before he leaves for SanFran.  Been to WV 4 straight weekends but mom is able to walk now, just waiting for an infection to clear up in her shoulder where they opened her up to fix the broken bits.  She broke the humerus off the top of her arm bone!  Cleaning up bread crumbs.  I just can't be in 3 places at once.  At least she doesn't have to go to the nursing home though. Doctor was pissed as this is the 4th bone socket she busted, both shoulders, one hip and one knee, and 4 vertebrae and I've lost track of how many ribs.  Linda fell 3x's this week, 4 hours in medexpress twice and a slight fracture in her 'good' arm.  I'd laugh if I wasn't cryin'.

Thank the dear Lord in Heaven for my Harley.  It gives me about 10 hours of vacation a week; :D

I know right?  When I bought my 2nd house on a deadend street all the neighbors were widows in 70-90's. Me, my next door neighbor and my kids kept their parking places shoveled and made sure they were all on their feet daily just in case.  Now my reward is Lisa takes care of me and my mother. She makes a lot of trips to WV just to do groceries and big box shopping for my parents.  Pay it forward :D

People can be good ;p

Oh speaking of my neighbor on that street, Jim the man that helped me alot and watched the street like a hawk passed away last week from leukemia, exact same AML strain that Linda has.  He never went into remission and only lived 10 months after diagnosis. He was 69. When I sold that house I had to pay for a radon gas exhaust system.  I told Linda's doctor this and they said it was no big deal or coincidence though.

Sad this man worked tirelessly, his wife was a shut-in and didn't drive, and his sons were allergic to lawn work. He'd work 60hrs a week, driving 2 hours a day, then take his wife grocery shopping, etc, then pull weeds and mow grass and manicure his front hill ivy.

This is the reason we quit folks, to try to stave off the reaper as long as you can. 70 years on this earth is nothing in the grand scheme.

Dear Rich I do feel for you with all those others needing you when you are still fragile.I guess you pick up everything as a side effect of all that treatment for your cancer.Isnt it wonderful you are here for them  LOL

Yes your Harley is your lifesaver isnt it?

I am sorry your Mum isnt out of hospital with her shoulder but she must be lucky to get so many repair jobs over here just getting on the waiting list would be a triumph.

Now this leads on to me.I got a call last Monday saying it was the 02 nurse and I though OMG did the tests finally proved I had barely any 02 overnight.Yay it was positive and I feel like I have been throw HOPE and a new life.  After a week I now sleep most of the night and dont have attacks and ambulances at 5 am.

I do feel so positive now as before it was like being in a road that was dark and soon would end now the sun shines and just by using the concentrator all night while I sleep is a miracle.I have been told it should in a few weeks start to allow more strength and help all my organs work better.

Thank you I seem to be surrounded by l lots of angels around me and since the unbelievable news where himself was caught and my life exploded.

I also have an 80year old who also pops in when the other neighbour is away. The support of these sort of people have helped me get to where I am.A few weeks ago I thought it was the end and then suddenly I got my miracle and more importantly my hope.

That's fantastic news! O2 eh? Kinda surprised since it's so easy to check that now a days. Must be to do laying down and asleep. Yes, Linda was on O2 a couple of months last year. Hopefully you get much better quickly. Might be on it for a lifetime now. Have you been checked for copd?

Thanks for letting us know. That was worrysome. Will check back later.
