Good morning Susan.  I see you would have to save the articles and enlarge them somewhere else.

Enough to read them.  They are readable on my PC file but the forum shrinks them.  My daughter

was 2 when the tornado hit, she got the worst injury with a fractured leg but believe me it could've

been so much worse.  She was in the living room with the console TV and fish tank, other stuff, flying

around.  I was just opening the door to check on an antenna I had just put up.  Wish I had put shoes on.

So she was 3 when the photo was taken a year later.  Born in 81, she's the one had a stroke at age 24,

and unfortunately likely to have another as she ages.  Tornado happened May 3rd and was August

before we had a home to live in again.  I finished college and took a 3rd shift temp job with IBM, so

worked on foundation and stuff during the day.  Relatives helped, living in another truck camper.

Most of them have died since.

Enjoy the day Susan, weather improving here.

Good morning Diana.  Nobody in our family goes into assisted living because of the 4k to 9k

price tag, giving up all assets.  His wife is bedridden with cancer, also and she blows up at people

frequently.  I have a very hard time helping someone that is ungrateful even while you're helping

them.He hopes to have someone from a government agency drop in for a couple hours a day to

help if my sister goes to Florida for the Winter to stay with her son.

I can only live there temporarily, have a hard time doing that.  I have to sleep upstairs and the

door has to be shut because so much junk stored up there and the cats would hide there.  So

would be difficult to get any heat up there.  There is baseboard heat, I would have to find out

where it's shut off and open it back up.  Pipes might be cut, not sure.  I can't spend to much

time in the smell, my sinuses become congested.  When I spend lot of time in there, I'm still

congested when I get home even riding a motorcycle for two hours.  Wife reminds me I sound

congested when I get home unless I spend all my time outdoors when there.

Sounds like you have a similar situation except everyone is healthy.   My brother does somtimes

like to have others do for him when he could do stuff himself and with Diabetes a person needs

to get up and at least move, to burn sugar out of their system.

My bruise is about healed.  There is so much garbage around at the old house it's easy to lose your

footing.  I had to move around a lot to get a heavy cabinet strapped to a loader.  Easy to get hurt

doing work with very heavy cabinet in garbage.  They completely destroyed their home before

moving into dads.  They recently wanted me to clear garbage away from the front deck and I did,

throwing some stuff and using a large barn shovel on the rest.  Then they talked like I was going

to go in there and get some clothes stored there, but I'm not, it's worse than walking through a

landfill.  At least a landfill is in open air,

My wife can still smell things well.  She can smell gasoline drops at 50 to 100 feet away.  I can no longer

even smell gasoline even while I'm filling a vehicle.  My sister is probably like me, can't smell much.

I can smell the cats a few feet from the house, wife can smell it at 100 feet.  So if we get the poperty

I probably will replace the flooring, wall board, and the ceilings before wife even gets near it.  We

hope to fix the house and build up a small horse farm for the next two generations.  My brother

already sold the majority of the farm, the prettiest part.

Have a great day.

Good morning Kitty.  Supposed to be rain free here next few days.  Need to get my lawn mowed.

Was down south mowing their lawn the day before the rain started, then no drying weather when

it stopped.  Got the drive assembly all together but 3/4 inch gap between the hub and pulley.  I have

to talk to the dealer I've been dealing with in Wisconsin to see what is wrong.  I mounted sprockets

and hub flush with the shaft.  Must be the sprockets aren't supposed to be flush but will talk to him

first.

My sister's son fixed my brothers car and finished yesterday.  They live an hour away so my sister had

to help get the car back to the farm.  So when I was ready to leave, hung around to pick up brother from

the hospital.   My brother has hit the gas instead of the brake and hit something three times.  If he drives

more he will end up losing his license.   He still keeps saying the pedals are to close together.

So most likely I will get our lawn mowed today and other stuff.

Hope your day goes well today.

Good morning Kitty.  Pretty nice days, though some with no sunshine.  The solar lights up

around our pups graves still come on past the time I go to bed.

I assume you got a new battery for your vehicle.  I don't hesitate anymore if the battery is

over 5 years old and cranks slowly or anything.

I did finally get our lawn mowed.  I worked on an audio amplifier after that I've been working on for

a couple years.  A modification kit that almost replaces everything in it except the transformers

and wiring, and most of the circuit boards.  I have a Techniques receiver upstairs with our large

speaker system that suits us older people, that replaces my big Kenwood 440 watt amplifier

while I work on it, and got a Yamaha receiver in the basement, I just got at that hamfest I went

to about a month ago.  Both receivers drive 4 speaker systems so sound good.  I have a

Bradford receiver down in the basement that we bought at Grants Department  stores back in

1976 but it barely works now.  I will probably go through it and replace all of the electrolytic capacitors.

They go with age, kinda like our ears, eyes, and sense of smell.

No plans for today, maybe work on the amp again.  Most important Winter prep job is done, putting a

second duct and register in the living room.  That room was staying cooler than the other rooms and

it's the most likely room people will be sitting in.   I need to put a clear coat of paint on the John Deere

tractor and some other items while I'm spraying if I get to it before Winter.  I already have the materials.

Have a good day.

Good morning Kitty.  Warm weather all week until Saturday, then the rainy cold front moves in.

Glad you got your new battery.  I remember once I was working night shift, a person on the cleaning

crew was trying to figure out how he could get a battery for his car so he could use it again.  But I

remember years before that we needed a battery and got a broken one from my brother to try,

didn't work.  We must have eventually got a new one.  Also, remember once our battery went in

the Montgomery Wards parking lot and I walked over to their automotive service center and bought

one and put it in our car.

I should be able to talk to the Allis Chalmers dealer to see why the new drive assembly comes up short.

Can't go over to the Harley Davidson dealer today, closed on Monday.  The inspection sticker I got on

my bike in August flew off my bike somewhere.

Have a good day.

Good morning Kitty.  Leaves are turning colors here also.  Cold front and rain move in Saturday.

Control arm broke away from the rear cross member on my Subaru.  Broke near my daughters

so I'm trying to remove the old one over there.  I cleaned the under carriage and coated it with

POR15, type of paint used to preserve classic cars, last year and it was rust proofed new.  Also

had the rust proofing touched up every year for 10 years.  But the rear frame piece rusted on top

where the control arm connects to it.  I have one side almost off, will keep me busy for a while.

I got the inspection sticker replaced on my bike early in the day.  Inspector is much younger than

my bike at 1982.

3 more days of nice weather, enjoy it.
