Hi Paul,

That’s pretty amazing that you never owned a car.  I am guessing that is what most New York City residents do….

Enjoy the day.  Do you have special plans for the end of 2022?    Susan

Hi Ernie,

We will travel to the east side of Cleveland to visit friends and do lunch. They have returned back from Düsseldorf Germany where they lived. six months a year.  He is now searching for words and the wife has Parkinson’s.  Reminder for all of us to live each day to our fullest!

Gray sky, warm temps and rain.

Hi Susan.

I think in the outer boroughs car ownership for a household is close to 50%. In Manhattan it's 20%. It's expensive to insure, park, and drive. Years ago, less than one-quarter of city residents had licenses. I think it's higher now because it is needed for identification. Nobody wants to carry their passport around to get into a building.

I have no NYE plans. I always thought it was too crowded and too hyped.

Good morning Susan, Paul, and all.  Went to the visitation thing there for one sister in law yesterday, was 2.5 hours

driving one way.  Thought it was closer.  Might try a different route for the funeral this morning.  The GPS gets me

back on route if I stumble.  When I was a teen Mcdonalds sandwich was 0.33, last night 5.17 was fish instead of a

burger though.

Two people from the 60s lives ending, makes you think.  Just had two older friends from back then go in 2021.

They were slightly older than me.

Probably a good part of NYC it's hard to keep a car from being stolen or vandalized.   NYC is our big New Year's Eve

party.  Have never gone but watched on TV many times.

Have a great day all, warmer temps.

Hi Paul,

All very interesting regarding car ownership.  Guess we all live in different arenas ~  metropolitan city, rural and suburbs.

I agree about New Year’s Eve.    An early dinner at a local restaurant and then watch the OSU Buckeyes,

Happy 2023 to all ~. Susan

Happy New Year all.  Posts wouldn't come up earlier, some error.  Supposed to be 50 here today and cloudy,

rain towards dark tonight.  Maybe get some done on my car today.  Have to get the steering knuckle off, have

the bearing pressed out and the new bearing pressed in.

Went to the funeral yesterday, other brother is in the hospital with dizziness and high blood pressure so the

memorial is postponed to some time in the future.  No fun, can see this coming up in our future.

Thanks for the birthday wishes Susan and Paul.  First trip to the visitation took me 2.5 hours but the next three

trips found a route that took 2 hours.

Yesterday the pups got the leash in my feet and I went down.  Heated gloves were still working but this morn

one of them wouldn't come on so have one more thing to try to fix.  Barely needed them yesterday or today,

just the first 15 minutes or so.

Hope my brother gets a solution to his recent illness and gets to go home soon, a new year coming.

Hope all have a good New Years Eve.  Don't celebrate here, used to stay up to see the ball drop but need to get

to sleep so can go jogging with Chloe and Belle tomorrow morning.  They really need some exercise so worn

down a little for the day.

Ernie
