Good morning Susan, Paul, and all. 34 here but the rain to start in a few minutes and goes on for hours.
Glad you're feeling better Susan. I used to watch the parade downtown when my grandchildren rode in
their fathers police car but that's all St. Patrick was to me. Our parade was a couple weeks ago. Today is
rainy most of the day and our parade day was cold. I love the bagpipe bands, maybe see some at the
Laurel Festival Parade in June. Not sure if we can take our dogs to a public event with crowds of people
and some dogs there in June.
Much of our snow melted, the rain and sorta warm temps today should take care of the rest. Forecast 52
and sunny for Monday. I will probably go down to the farm that day. Not certain I have oil pressure through
the engine without those o-rings so if I don't receive and install them will probably leave the bike here
Socket I used on the larger antenna mount pulled apart with the antenna mounted on it so had to disassemble
it and use a different type socket on it. Had to drill it out larger and the ground lug has to be moved. Might
go to Lowes and look for some thin lock washers for it.
Our niece had a healthy baby boy. Said there was a foot of snow in the road on their way to the hospital. Glad
all turned out well. Think she was in the hospital all night before the birth.
Was sad to see another bank failing and had to be rescued. Not good for the stock market. We hope to use some
of our savings there some day but wouldn't use any right now. We don't lose any money unless we use it when there's
a downturn in the market. Many say how much they've lost but if they don't sell, haven't lost anything, even get a
discount if they buy during a downturn.
At least it's warm today with the rain, then a little colder after that but looks good for about at least 5 days after that for
us. Good to see some better March weather. We've had some bad snow storms in March. March of 2022 we had that
wet snow and ice that broke our trees and brought down power lines. Cost me $180 to run the generator for 3 days but
isolated incident and grateful we had the generator, also gas station that had non ethonel gas that we use in our small
engines still had power. In March of 1993 we had feet of snow and it drifted to piles of snow over our heads.
Have a great day all.
Some of wife's flowers by the pool.
Congrats to your niece and family, Ernie.
Enjoy the day all.
Dear Sensational friends ~
Happy St. Patrick’s Day from Finn. This is a picture of his first St. Paddy’s Day when I brought him home eleven years ago.
We will spend the day inside as it is raining and cool. Feeling better, dislike the strong but necessary, drugs. Perhaps an outing to a local take out for the traditional corned beef sandwiches or a grilled cheese for me!
Enjoy the day! Susan
Love the picture of Finn.....hope everyone has a wonderful day....still cold here but supposed to get up to 50....up way to early....daughter had us over for a corned beef and cabbage dinner delicious.....she sent us home with enough for dinner tonight....we have sweet daughters.....will have to take a nap after breakfast it is only 6 now.....
Good morning Susan, Kitty, Paul, and all. Made it out with the dogs this morn, 34 when we started.
Finn looks puppyish in the picture, he was then.
Chasing chipmunks, grey squirrels, and red squirrels away from the bird feeder. Will soon stop filling
it until next Winter. The land creatures eat to many seeds, can't keep up with them.
Have a necklace one daughter made. Sits behind a mag glass that's lit year round.
Working on my mobile antenna mount, went out for a toothed 5/8 inch lock washer yesterday but no
local businesses have one. Going to try to use a split lock washer on one side of the mounting plate.
The socket for the antenna I originally used didn't hold up.
Have a great day all.
Good morning, Miss Kitty ~
You were up at the crack of dawn. Not me… Even with the time change, I wake around 9:00 a.m.
Thank you for liking Finn’s picture. Wasn’t he just the sweetest of pups? I remember the drive home from near the PA border and I wrapped him in my woolen scarf and he sat on my lap while Megan drove to Avon. Hard to believe that he is eleven now.
How lovely that you enjoyed dinner at your daughter’s home. We ordered out….Jim a corned beef sandwich and I had a delicious grilled cheese sandwich with chicken noodle soup. No leftovers for us!
Snowing here now ~ always a snow, of sorts, around St. Patrick’s Day.
On we go…into April and better weather. I noticed my neighbor’s daffodils poking through the soil.
Good morning to all ~
I could say “top of the mornin to all” but that was yesterday. Today, it’s snowing and 28 degrees (wind chill brings it down to 15 degrees).
Watched a bit of the college basketball playoffs yesterday ~ Jim attended Xavier so he was pleased about their win. Unfortunately, Kent State University, where my granddaughter attends, were not so lucky. I am much more into football than basketball but the college playoffs are fun…March Madness at its best.
A low key St. Patrick’s Day for us. Spouse now has the cold and coughing that I am trying to get over. We may have dinner out compliments of a gift certificate from a family member tonight. It beats cooking.
Carry on ~ Have a great smoke free day. Susan
Good morning Susan and all. 23 here, not sure about the chill. Looks absolutely still outside but
I will go out and check in a while.
Sorry you're both sick now Susan, hope it ends soon.
Couldn't find the large and thin lock washers I need to build my mobile antenna mount and they
were expensive online. Found some couplers for my antenna cables, coax, that included them so
ordered them. Now I will have the couplers and the washers.
O-rings for the dirt bike arrive Monday so I might put off trip to farm until Tuesday.
Yesterday I worked on buffing the slight coat of rust off my dad's old shotgun, finished cleaning it
and oiling it after that. Still another one that's not so easy. A solid coat of rust where it must have
been exposed to cat urine for years at my brother's place. Not completely sure I can restore that
one but will try.
My wife doesn't appreciate cooking as much as in the past, guess it gets old. Eating at home is much
safer for a diabetic. Can't tell what chefs are putting in food to enhance the taste to get people back.
Which is a big part of their job. My brother eats out 6 - 7 days a week.
Monday and Tuesday are great weather here, sunny and close to 50 or over it. Hope all have couple nice
weather days to enjoy.
Good morning (almost afternoon) to everyone,
A snowy morning here by Lake Erie ~ a few inches of white fluffy snow. T.V. Weather report said we have had more snow in March than in February. Cold to ~ 27 balmy degrees. We live streamed Mass and spouse just left for a stat care facility as he is coughing, etc. I am at the end of the medication and feeling better.
Ernie ~ wish I had as many projects as you do to keep yourself busy. Cleaning seems to be my #1. I agree with your wife. A lifetime of cooking and it gets old. We dined out last evening. I had a delicious salmon with Bernadine sauce and lentils. The service was poor and the waitress gave us complimentary desserts. My caramel flan was the best part of the meal.
Enjoy the day ~ Kitty, Paul, Ernie and any who lurk…
Glad you enjoyed the dinner, Susan.
Cold and windy here, a 25 degree drop from yesterday. But warms up tomorrow, the first day of Spring. I'll be complaining about the heat soon :)
