SENSATIONAL SENIORS   Quit Buddies Unite

Started 8/23/15 by ModDee; 2087099 views.

Had a very nice day today with my sister and mom. Lunch at Apple B’s, visited the cemetery and spent an hour or so at the fire pit at my house. Many closed streets for parades, so lots of detours. Tried to send a picture but it didn’t work. To all~~enjoy Memorial Day and all the family togetherness.

Good morning all.  48 here, about 10 degrees warmer than yesterday morning.  Finn looks comfy.  Hope he has

a great Summer.  Our Chloe and Belle have short hair.

I don't have any plans for the weekend either but it's nice weather and we're enjoying it.  We cleaned off the table

in the pool area yesterday, it's gotten piled up with stuff.  I need to scrub it with a brush.

Think I have the SS running half way decent, can tweek it as the Summer goes by.  Will drive it down to the farm

Wednesday.  Supposed to mow the area where brother is going to bury his wife's ashes.  Have the Allis Chalmers

and it's brush hog so will be fairly easy.  I will go down a few days later when they actually do the funeral but isn't

a formal funeral, just a burial.  Will ride the bike then, can't afford to take the SS down that often, burns a lot of

premium gas.  I will probably mow the lawn around the farm house with the little John Deere, will take a while.

I just sent my daughter a happy anniversary card for her 15th year of not smoking, she quit about 13 months

after me.  Happy for her, she had a stroke in her 20s, doesn't need the poison smoke in her life.

Hope Kitty has her treatment plan in place and works well.

Have a great day all.

Good morning, all,

Nice weather here also.  It's Fleet Week every Memorial weekend, so a few thousand sailors, marines, coast guard visit. Some of the ships are open to the public for tours. Pretty nice.

Enjoy the day,

Paul

Enjoy the ships!    Have the Tall Ships ever visited NYC?    God Bless all who have served!   Susan

How blessed you are to have your Mother. I lost mine to cancer in 1972 ~.      Flags are flying. We are off to Mass and then a convertible ride and a hike with Finn!  Susan

It was interesting. I went on the USS Wasp, an amphibious assault boat.  It was pretty big.

The Tall Ships have been here a few times that I remember. Last time was 2012 for the Star-Spangled Banner bicentennial. Before that our Millenium, and 1992 for Columbus. Maybe other times.

Good morning all.  52 here this morn, warm walk.  I feel bad for all the people getting flooded mid Atlantic.

I'm afraid I'm just starting to notice it.  We dodged the bullet up here,  No rain at all.  Always some part of the

country going through hard times.

The ships must be something Paul.  I went out on a Navy ship training once,  We landed on Virginia Beach.  I've

probably said that before.  Was in December, couldn't believe we were doing that in December.  Was glad to see

our First Sergeant go in over his head.  He was a pain in the butt.  After working in industrial electronic companies

he doesn't seem so bad.

Pool flowers are great.  Wife takes a blank wall and turns it into a work of art.  It's already quite a transformation

just getting the Winter cover off and opening the pool.  Neighbor has given up on his, leaves the cover on year round.

He's not a nice person so don't know why he does it.

Lost my mom to Cancer in 1987 Susan.  Miss her all the time, devoted her life to helping us kids and others.  Now my

wife's parents are getting old, starting to forget stuff.  They still plan on driving over 100 miles to reunion this year,

won't accept a ride.  Don't blame them for wanting to hold on to their lives and freedoms.  They've been through a

lot like most people.  I envy my wife being able to text her mom all the time, was very costly to keep in touch with

my parents with long distance charges.  Wrote letters sometimes.

I spent most of the day yesterday repairing a pool chair, had no idea it would take so long, was hot working in the sun.

Took lots of coffee breaks.

No plans yet for today, lots to do.  Can't believe I'm using the backhoe to dig a grave for ashes for sister in law.  A first

for me.  I didn't know until yesterday they were having an actual funeral.

Hope all are enjoying the weekend.  Hope Kitty is getting along well.

Good morning all.  Plenty of good weather for all, except maybe agriculture.  Frost for some crops, like

strawberries, and now no rain for the rest.  Pool temperature slowly coming up, 69 last I looked.  I usually

won't go in until above 74.  Might go in lower in the Fall when working hard.

Going to the farm today to get the area ready for sister in law funeral.  Traffic was bad yesterday when I went

to daughters, hope better today.

Hope you all have a good day.

A lovely day here. Very warm. We went to our pool yesterday and also turned on the air conditioning.
