March Warriors 2018   Quit Buddies Unite

Started 3/30/18 by slowblumer; 478386 views.

BUMP and Happy New Year to the March 2018 Warriors. So sorry to hear you lost your Dad in Dec Cindi. Condolences--know how hard that is. Glad you still have your Mom.

I am still adjusting and settling in The Norfolk/VA Beach area. My little doggie and I are looking forward to some new adventures at the beach and other activities in Spring & summer. I am re-acquainting myself with this area as I lived here 40 yrs ago. More traffic and expressways now. Glad I don't have to be in traffic jams since I am retired...so traffic congestion does not bother me now.see_no_evil

Looking forward to seeing more buddies return to celebrate getting their wings. How Sweet it is!

LOVE to all!!

Hi again Gloria!  Responded to your other post.  I haven't been on much because I am dealing with so much with my mom.  She isn't doing so great so I've had so much on my plate.  My daughter has been going through some things too (not all bad) so she's been taking some of my time too.  Congrats on your move!  Love that area!  Hugs to you!

Hey Marilyn,

BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU! Having celebrated five years smoke free on the 25th of February. That's wonderful! tada Keep leading my friend. I can't wait to see your lovely wings.

Now that you (Feb. 25), and me, Cindi, and Mike (Mar. 9) have reached this amazing milestone, Tom (Mar. 19) and Brian (Mar. 21) are up next. I'm so happy for us all. I'm really looking forward to seeing our group post their wings, as well as our other 2018 friend groups posting their wings this year too. I know Gloria is excited also. There's so much to be proud of from where we all started. I'm so happy we've maintained our friendships and connections through the years too. I'm still so grateful to have got in with such great quit-buddies and friends. Speaking of that, again, big congratulations to you on these five years smoke free! See you here soon. Hugs.

Have a great day. relaxed

P.S. My little owl has left the key behind and is just spreading his wings. blush

Hey Mike,

Congratulations on 5 years smoke free! tada

See something wrong with the picture below?

Cindi and I are missing our quit-brother. We're just not the March triplets without you. You should check out the post Cindi made on the 9th under the menu heading 'One Year and Beyond Milestones'. She titled the post 'Happy 5 Year Anniversary to US'. I love her post and the picture she posted there. The three of us are looking great! relaxedrelaxedrelaxed

Did you do anything special to celebrate or commemorate the occasion? I hope so.

How have you been? I hope you're doing well. I also hope that you'll stop back in our group soon. We would love to hear from you.

Do you still have the Falcon? Do you still take it to Sonic on Fridays? Did you ever get the 'Tear Drop Hood' you wanted for it? I hope you did. If so, if you wouldn't mind, and if it's not too much trouble, I'd love to see a picture of it. Thanks. The one a friend had that I mentioned before, they no longer have it. He gave it to someone and they just parked it under a carport and left it. It may not be abandoned but it's as good as, being treated like that. It's been sitting there about three years now. I really can't understand it. It was in such good shape and ran great and this person seems to just have 0 interest in driving it, maintaining it, or doing anything with it. Such a waste. Anyway, I got off subject, I hope you found the hood you wanted and are still enjoying your Fridays in it.

Please keep in touch when you can and congratulations on these five years. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Have a great day. relaxed

As of March 9th, the March Triplets are celebrating five years!

Marilyn reached it Feb. 25. Cindi, Mike, and Denim reached it Mar. 9. Tom and Brian are up next to celebrate and I'm looking forward to celebrating with both of you also. tada Who would have thought this (five years) starting out? Yet, here we are. So amazing from where we started and so much better. TO ALL 'MARCH WARRIORS 2018': WOO-HOO! YAY! WE DID IT!

On a personal note, I'm not sure I could have got as far as I have without you all at the start. Love and heartfelt thanks to each of you.

Have a terrific weekend my friends.

Have a great day. relaxed

Thanks Denim.  Sorry I haven't been here much.  Life kind of draws me back in.  In the apartment complex I live in now, so many smokers.  My immediate neighbors are always leaving butts on the stairs.  I find it so disgusting and disrespectful.

Funny I used to be one of them.

Hey Tom,

Thank you so much for posting here again today. It's great to hear from you. relaxed

I can understand about that, life drawing you back in I mean. The same has been true with me more than once too. Especially the past few months. I hope you're doing well and that things are going good for you. Littering smokers aside, though I'm sorry you're having to put up with that. How's everything else? I really hope all is good. Do you still ride your motorcycle, weather permitting? I hope you'll continue to keep in touch from time to time and I especially hope you stop back by for your celebration and Brian's too. I love how far we've all come together. Five years is amazing! tada

Keep in touch as you can and I'll try to do the same. I hope you have a enjoyable weekend.

Have a great day. relaxed

I am doing well.  I am planning another move.  The place I live now is great for me, but a friend of mine is looking for a roommate.  I looked into moving him in here, but they have a long wait on 2 bedroom apartments.  Also my friend has 2 turtles and a goldfish along with 1 cat.  My apartment complex doesnt allow fish, aquariums of any kind, or reptiles.  So he found one that also has a garage for my motorcycle, and a nice 2 bedroom with 1.5 bath.  We applied there.  I will have to pay 800 to break my lease and 500 for my 2 kittens (non refundable deposit.) but rent will be half living with him. so it all kind of works out.  And with this one we can keep all of our pets.

It's starting to get nicer here in Kansas but I haven't rode my bike yet this year.  Kind of waiting till it is nicer.

Hey Tom,

I'm happy to hear you're doing well. That's terrific. I think it's great that you and your friend can share a place and split the expenses, especially now. The prices of everything have been skyrocketing like crazy. It's nice that you can both keep your pets too. There's so many that need good homes. I hope his cat and your kittens get along. I don't have any pets. The last ones to go were some catfish. Had them over 10 years but it was a terrible winter storm that did them in. I'm glad the apartment has a garage for your motorcyle too. Good luck to you both. I hope you get the apartment.

Spring will be there before you know it but personally I can't say I'm looking forward to it. The list of things I need to do this spring is already growing and it hasn't even got here yet, lol. Nonetheless, I'm sure you'll be out and about on the bike before too much longer and it still sounds like such fun.

Have a great day. relaxed

Congrats to all!! FIVE YEARS!! Can you believe that time has passed this quickly, especially when we were out of cigarettes?!

I am so glad I hooked my wagon to such fine people that helped in my recovery from that addiction. I was thinking the other day on how good I feel not smoking. I can no longer imagine how I would feel, coughing, smelling, ashy, broke, etc. from smoking. How great that is.

Hope all are doing well and are enjoying the improved health we won with so much effort. It was not easy, but sure was worth it.

Take care and we can always stay in touch through this valuable forum.
