Greetings September Ash-Kickers 2018 Group!
Welcome to your kickoff buddy group thread! This is a place for you to continue to get quit help, information and just hang out and get to know one another.
As we like to say around here, an educated quit is a successful quit - so keep reading and absorb everything you can on this site, the forum and elsewhere around the web. Arm yourself with knowledge and it will help you start the work of changing your relationship with your old smoking habit. Once you do that, you are on your way.

Hanging in there... better than it was but I'm in it for the long haul.
Remembering my body's healing...all this discomfort is healing.
Is anyone else struggling with changed sleeping patterns?
My sleep cycle is all out of whack
Had warm milk...no cookies...just donuts

Hey Mrissa,
A lot of people do experience changes to their sleep patterns during smoking cessation. Unfortunately it is one of the symptoms of withdrawal that we may experience. Here are 2 articles on the matter. The first deals with common signs of withdrawal, including sleep disturbances. The second deals with ways to relieve insomnia after quitting.

Yes, you're quite right about this being a wonderful support group. It's also wonderful to see you here in our new home.
Congratulations on 25 days smoke-free!! That's quite an achievement.
Our sleep is often affected during the first weeks of quitting. It's quite normal, but rest is so important to us while we are going through the initial turmoil, so do try to have a nap during the day, when possible, to ensure that you are getting enough sleep.

start of week 3 , weekend went well , did not smoke , that's two weekends in a row which is huge for Me , got a lot of yard work done , treated myself to some soda and homemade apple pie with ice cream on top yesterday as a treat from my stricter diet , but back to work today , quitting is hard work and I figure I'll get out of it , what I put in !

Congratulations to all ‘September Ash-Kickers 2018’ on your new quit buddy group name and your permanent new home.
You’ve made it through to October and will be approaching your first full month smoke free. What a awesome achievement!
If I may leave a bit of advice.. As you move forward continue to take it day by day. Looking to far ahead can cause added stress and undue anxiety. Stay in the moment. Day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute if necessary. Stay strong and stay close.

I am so very sorry to hear what you have been, and still are, going through. You have really done amazingly well to stay smoke-free so be very proud of yourself.
I am copying this post over to one of my Quit Buddies, Triff, as she has also been going through a similar situation to you but is now coming out the other side. She may be able to give you some support and I always think it is good to be able to speak to someone with whom we can identify when we are in stressful situations. She, actually, lives in New Zealand so may not reply until tomorrow.

So, I do hope that the court hearing goes well and that you can come to a decision about what action to take now. I can understand how hard that decision must be but I hope that you do whatever is the very best for you. You deserve it.

Congratulations on Two Weeks Smoke-free and also for getting through another weekend. You're right - that is a huge achievement.

Just keep going - it will get better and better - you can do this.
