Congratulations on making it to Day 4, Dededubs! Continue to concentrate on getting through today.
Watching someone else smoke is a powerful trigger. Perhaps if you let your visitors know in advance that you have quit smoking, they can be supportive. Like taking their smoke breaks away from you. Giving yourself permission to take a break when you need it. Think of situations you may be in and come up with how you're going to maintain your quit. Keep your list of reasons for quitting and your plan for staying smoke free with you. You can do this, dededubs.
Have a wonderful smoke free day!
Hugs,
Andrea

Hello Octonopers!
Nice new digs, I must say. Hope you all are hanging in there! First month is probably the worst. Icky threes are not great but not nearly as bad as early on. I lived in a fog that first week myself. It helped that I was working from home then too. I posted and read a lot those first few weeks and watched YouTube videos about quitting smoking. It was almost obsessive just trying to get the days to go by a bit faster. Hours seemed to drag on. But you all are doing this so keep on doing what works. Post when a crave is overwhelming and you should make that first month! Enjoy your new home!

Hi, pretty good.. Been back in Chicago working, went grocery shopping was out of food. I dont have any more patches, been popping candies and drinking water. Dont have any cravings, how about you how is it going? Are you using patches or gum

The stupid brainwashing/junkie thinking is driving me nuts today. I know that is pretty typical since I am only on day 2, but enough already. I’ve noticed that that the junkies thoughts seem to pop up when I am trying to put something off or when I want to take a break from whatever i’m doing at the moment. I wish I could just hibernate for the next week but I know that wouldn’t help me work through these thought patterns.
I’m worried about the upcoming weekend. Anybody else? I don’t have any plans but I am going to try to avoid being around any smokers. Maybe go the movies or take my son ice skating, something indoors where smoking isn’t allowed.

Hi Blue,
Well this is something else, and a pool as well, could do with a dip right now 36 degrees centigrade outside.
Kind regards
Anthony
PS Thanks Andrea for our new home

Hi Claire,
Can sympathise with you at two days quit, Though I am taking Champix and boy is it good. I hardly felt any cravings when I quit, but that's not helping you is it? I drink lots of refrigerated water about eight glasses a day, and I have cut way back on coffee, bought some green tea yesterday giving that a go. Walking that's the other thing I do and lots of it about two hours per day, when I'm walking I don't think about smoking and when I get home I am so sore and tired there's no room for the JT's. Try to keep busy as much as you can, while your mind is occupied The JT's don't get a say.
Anyway just a few thoughts
Kind regards
Anthony
