Thanks Dee, I hear you. You are right, we should also relax into this

1 Month today!
Feeling good so far.
It is time to start cutting down on my eating though. I have let it get out of control this last month. I have gained 5 lbs despite putting more time in on the treadmill. Apparently replacing cigarettes with ice cream sandwiches is not the right path.
I don't find myself craving a cigarette much but I do have this sense of malaise. A feeling like something is missing. It seems to be lessening as time goes on which is nice.

Happy Monday everyone. Only retired people generally say such a thing.
No smoking going on here.

On 1 Month Steve!
You said. "I don't find myself craving a cigarette much but I do have this sense of malaise. A feeling like something is missing. It seems to be lessening as time goes on which is nice. "
Steve, I guarantee you if you keep on this path of cessation it will lessen to a point where you will think of smoking as just something you used to do.
When we quit smoking, it can seem as though we'll never stop craving cigarettes. How do we quit in a way that frees us from smoking urges?

Thank you. That's very encouraging. In my previous attempts I would get to this point and some strange wave of self pity would derail me. I feel a lot more in control this time. I don't feel like I am "giving up" smoking, I feel like I am overcoming a disease. So when I hear long time ex-smokers reinforce the notion that the eventually I will be able to live a normal life again its very encouraging.

Thank you, congrats on your 1 month too! Hopefully we can be like the Freedom '16 board in a few years!
