Hi Jan & Cheryl,
Glad to hear from both of you. We were 3 survivors of March 2019 group to reach 1 year mark and I am very happy that in next 2-3 months we will be hitting the 2 years mark.
It is indeed and achievement. I still do get some triggers but they are short lived and easy to control.
i wish both of you best of health for 2021.
Glad to hear all is good and wish you all the very best for 2021 :)
Good day Asad. I am so glad you are made it this far.. the virus caused many smober members to lapse, I am sure. But they have the forum to help them recover. I was tempted a few times but I never want to fight that battle again. It was so frustrating and took a lot of effort to keep going. You, Jan and I made it and I am so happy for all of us. Stay strong Asad and celebrate big when you hit your 2 year anniversary here soon! Happy Smober New Year!!
It will be 2 years for you on 3rd March 2021. What an achievement it is..... What looks like impossible during first few months is now a truth. At least I never thought that I will be normal without this cigarette ever.
Great achievement and long way to go.
Hey Asad, thank you for remembering... I was waiting until tomorrow to be able to say I DID IT lol - two whole years - so hard to comprehend as I have nearly always been a smoker and never anticipated giving up.
You will also soon be reaching the two year achievement - We have also done this during a very difficult time... lockdown is still happening in the uk and it has been very tough as my husband is in the "extremely vulnerable" group. We have felt very isolated over the last 12 months and this was the sort of pressure that would make me smoke but the cigarettes didn't win this time :D
Thanks again for remembering Asad
Take good care and stay safe
This last year is tough for all of us and all this lockdown definitely will have long term effect on how we do things and how we live.
Hopefully this vaccination will bring things back to normal in coming months and we can forget about this COVID at some point in life
This is what I was reading around two years ago and it was a wishful thinking to reach 2 years mark
The bad news for ex-smokers has always been that relapse rates are extremely high, but a new study suggests that staying away from cigarettes gets much easier after two years of abstinence, with more than 80 percent of former smokers achieving long-term success.
Quit smoking is some achievement we have in life and we should be proud of it. Thanks to this forum where I can write and express through what I was going at that time.
Congratulations to you on 2 years smoke free. It is an enormous achievement. Well done.
I think you will find that after two years it gets much easier. It's like you have been through all the triggers and the biggest trigger of all = Stress. You have experienced a lot of stress with this pandemic and you did not smoke.
Keep your quit green. It is precious.
Hi there Marge
Thank you so much for your good wishes... I still can't quite believe that it has been 2 years.. some days I have to pinch myself lol. This last 12 months has certainly been a tester with us personally having to shield because of hubby's health. There has just been the two of us for so long now... we have seen our families but not many times and not to hug. The hardest thing has not being able to hug our grandchildren (1 is 4 years old and the other 18 months). Christmas was by far the worst time as we just celebrated on our own. The schools go back on Monday and we can meet with another family by the end of March (we have been in the second lockdown since before Christmas) and they say we will be able to mix a lot more by June!!!! As you say, I have got through a very stressful time and not smoked - but I still can't believe it lol
Thanks again Marge :)
Congratulations Asad - your two year day today :)... very well done. Such a great achievement
Congratulations to you Cheryl :D --- two years of no smoking, such an achievement :)
We are the three March 2019 warriors and we should all be very proud of ourselves
Hope all is well with you - take good care
