Hey friends,

Just dropping in to say Hello.  I know that the world is kinda busy with all the changes the coronavirus has brought to our normal routine, but I still want to know everyone is still on the road to success.  It is no longer a yellow brick as it is not stained with smoke, but it is still paved by our sweat and determination to get to the clubhouse.  I would love to hear from you, just to have some social contact.

I am having some emotional challenges due to some personal life changes, which may or may not be exacerbated by where I am at on the smoking cessation journey.  Lately, I have resorted back to sitting in the backyard in the evening to enjoy smoking my straw, which is a calming action.  I hadn’t done that for a few months, but I do find it is calming lately.  I know this sounds illogical but I don’t think about or want to smoke, I just want the ritual. Anyone else having changes from last month that may or may not be attributed to smoking cessation?  It is hard to find entries from members at their 6-7 month Quit, other than most say they don’t think about smoking, however, they don’t mention if there is a change in emotions, good or bad, or if the triggers are still there, you know, all the stuff we guard against during the first year.

Hi Susan I see your post. I look on here every once in a while to see if any one is still active. I'm still not smokin and don't think about smokin most of the time. But on and off urges do arise as a sudden impulse to have a smoke. If I had 1 in front of me I'd probably light it up for that moment.  I still do my suckers as a passive way to stop urges. But that too passes to not so many suckers. And I think there is alot too what is going on. I was going to retire here mid May. Now have pushed that back to a time when things are a little easier to get out and about. Want to travel and have a good unrestricted travel time. So am going to wait it out a little longer till the good times come back. So hang in there and we can both have a good breath a our cleaner air in a unrestricted society.   Hopefully the rest of our crew is still smoke free and well.                                                                                                      Still a Noper since Oct. 17th 2019

I hope this note finds you well and staying smokefree.  Wanted to congratulate you, Ed, Cherbear, Susan, Wayne and all others on racking up those months.  I am proud of us all.  Hope all of you are well and healthy.
