Right on and well done! I made it one year one month and hoping for two years and life long. Any hints about how to refrain from losing such a long quit. Do you still have cravings or just mild momentary thoughts about smoking? Do you miss smoking at all?
Just wanted to say congratulations and experience between year one and two.
Cheers!!

Hello!!
Two years and counting! Hope all is well amidst this craziness. This thread is verrrry quiet. I hope that means people have gotten on with their lives as non smokers and don't require the support as much. For me..the smell disgusts me and if not for that and the social awkwardness I may still be lighting up! All else is good here. Miss everyone!
Happy 2 years +++

Hi Anne, thanks for the message. Interesting, but I wanted and counted every day to the first year anniversary. Had to remind myself of the second. I have very few cravings ever, but I miss smoking all the time. Like an old long lost friend, crazy, but that's junkie thinking.
It was much easier when I I mentally switched my coping, rewards, good times and down times, relaxing, stress with things other than smoking. Shedding the associations is key.
Congrats on the year and welp done. You are amazing and so strong. It gets easier

Hi andnso great!! Almost two years, amazing what you have done and you are doing so well. I think a lesson for us all, looking where we all started

We are doing well. Surving the covid chaos and in what feels like a space walk. But good to hear from you. Sending prayers and happy thoughts

I totally agree with you about shedding the associations. I have the odd 'wish I could smoke', then realize I can if I want to. I just don't want to go back to that again. It took too long to finally quite and hey, after all, we are romancing one cigarette. When in fact, that one cigarette turns into years of smoking with ugly side effects. It's never just one.
A lot like the mermaids in the Pirate movies - they look so pretty, you really want one and then, if you invite one in, it turns on you like a ferocious animal, dragging you into the depths of addiction and depravity. Nope, I can see right through that facade.
Cheers on your 2 years!!! Well done.
