Hi Terry

I found this forum a few days ago when I was going through the horrors. I have spent days reading and trying to figure out how to introduce myself and confess my smoking sins.

I started smoking as a 15 year old very young nurse and have tried to give up many times over the years. I gave up on New Years eve 2015 (26 days 10 hours and 18 minutes ago)! I can't remember it being so hard other times.

This forum has given me some hope and the feeling that there is some support out there - Thanks

Congratulations on 25 DAYS, Amdarc!

Welcome to the forum!

You are doing fantastic. Reading is one of the best things you can be doing. "An educated quit is a successful quit." I smoked for 40 years, and I've been quit for over 2 years. I couldn't have done it without the support I've received here.

Please join others who are quitting this month in our newest buddy group.

Welcome Janaury 2016 Ex Smokers

I'm glad you're here, Amdarc. Have a wonderful smoke free day!

(((Terry))) - awesome to have one spot as my go to!  THANK YOU!

(((Gaylene))) & (((Jacki))) <3 <3 <3

Am on day 3 - I feel strong and ready for this - I miss my freedom more than anything else.

Breast cancer 2 years ago - pleurisy in the left lung as a result from radiation - and now awaiting biopsy for the other breast.

Nobody said to me what we were all thinking (I did the research, I know my breast cancer came from smoking)... however I am saying it now to those I love.  I need accountability for what I have done to myself and to my loved-ones.  Thank you for being here, for being strong, for the resources and the support and mostly for not judging me, but rather accepting this human mess :)  I have missed you my friend.  xoxo, Catherine

((((Catherine)))), welcome back to the fold.

I'm so sorry that you've been through a rough time the last couple of years, but I know you're a fighter, which has (and will ) serve you well.

This forum is just as you left it - new location, but the same great support and camaraderie.

Settle in, Catherine.  Better days are coming.

(((hugs))), T.
