Just remember its the drug not the taste, smell or the fact we were burning our lungs and filling ourselves with chemicals.  Neither of us want that ever again.

I’m good, thank you!

Oh my Chris....you absolutely should be SO PROUD of yourself!!! For this and many other things I’m certain! I will be one next week and there are moments I’m still not sure about this. Ugh! Gonna do it but like Eve, no peace for me either, lol! joy Ahhh...perhaps it is one of those “no rest for the wicked” things, haha.
So glad you are still here! How’s that Grand Baby????

Your baby is 18?!?!?! Wow! You will join the club VERY SOON, and then it becomes the waiting club........waiting for the peace. I know darn well, that if we can get through 2020, we can get through this.......I hope you are wrong about no rest for the wicked! Otherwise I will never have the peace...lol!

18......ok the squirrel took over....wow.

RE Cheetos-........

The grandbaby is great thanks.  So one down for you and a healthier life ahead.  Way to go.  I agree this is not easy but getting easier.  Always those moments.  You're feeling better so its easy to wonder if it is necessary so remember why you quit.  I'm sure you weren't happy with the smell, addiction and knowing what harm you were doing to yourself.  You're so much better off than you were a year ago.

Thank you Anne.  Wasn't sure I could actually do it.  But apparently I could and did. smiley

Oh, just think how your grandbaby has never smelled that on you! Fantastic! That right there is so wonderful, really. Our sense of smell is our most primitive sense and is linked strongly to memories. I read an article recently about how it is even linked to how we perceive different colors. Folks who grew up associating a smell with a place they disliked that was painted purple, for example, also disliked purple. That is over simplified from the article, but gives the gist on that angle.
Now that baby will grow to have fond memories of your smell that aren’t associated with cigarettes. So good.
Yes, I think I will always need to keep my guard up and count the benefits and keep those forefront. I’m ok with that. I’ve committed to coming here to write and/or read something when I feel the pull or lure of addiction. It helps reading the new folks and reaching out to them.
Thanks Chris! Forward we go!blush

I hear you.  I couldn't believe I was doing it the whole time and I still amaze myself that I made it this far.  It is a continuing commitment everyday.  Never going back to that again.

Cheers!

Almost!
Wow. I know it is rhetoric to ask where did the time go, but…where did the time go???

I guess that doesn’t matter so much as staying in the moment we are in maybe. A whole of that these past two years. Breathe, step back, center self, remind self this is a moment. Ahhhh. Sure could not have done it without you all. Am eternally grateful. My Forum Tribe.
Let’s keep carrying this torch, shall we ladies?? Go us!!!
