Yes....Was told at 6PM OF an incoming freeze warning so I raced out to dig up my basil and turn off and drag in the pool hose, cover plants, and there it sat in the sky....
That lovely October Blue Moon. I have lost time this month it seems. It has just escaped out of my fingertips. I forgot the Blue Moon was coming and how appropriate it is.
Hugs back to ya, although a tad late

Eve and Lore,
Wow just read this after sending you a PM and am in that exact place under the covers........
Now I see you are too, Lore. My heart goes out to you. My spirit wraps around you. So sorry but it happens and will go away. No energy to fight sometimes. No pressing engagements here so gonna let it rip, smoke free of course. Too bad the nicotine was a fr....Ing ..liar about being my friend. He is not invited.
Tremendous pull To stay in the cave despite encouraging influences to get me out. Maybe a double pull with the Blue Moon? Would make sense cos blue is the color today. Love yall

You get the freeze, too, eh? It seems too early but I guess la nina is supposed to make for a very wet winter up here. It snows here but it's very dry, if that makes sense. A lot of people have trouble adjusting to the dry heat here. Anyhoo, save the basil! Save the basil! Do you make pesto? I've heard you can make it with almonds too. I've always wanted to try, but have been s little apprehensive. I really should grow my own in a window box. One of the ladies at work brings me chives and garlic and they are wonderful! Nothing better than local produce.

Going to get cloudy there?
I did not like seeing the blue moons this month...a first.
Wish they could get you in sooner but that time may protect you more. The soreness for a month is what concerns me.
I will get in spa briefly tomorrow for a moon view. That’s it.
I just wondered if smoking affected heart rate even tho it’s been 5 months. No worry. No biggie.
Beautiful thing.....laying on a blanket in the breeze with pups. Warmed up enough to be lovely. A nurturing thing today for me.

Is it going to cloud up this lovely amazing moon? Seriously?? No!! It is too gorgeous. I’m sad Peggy Love that it doesn’t light you up, but I understand that. Don’t worry...the joy will return. Perhaps you are on the dark side of it now. We always forget there is another side than what is facing us. It is still the moon though, and even the dark side has its stars that can be seen from it. So...the night puts on it’s cloak, and shields you for a while, and that is ok.
Your blanket in the breeze...ahh... and your pups. Comfort of quiet and warmth is just the thing you need. Maybe all you need for now too. Soak it up and bask in the in it with the knowledge that Father Time knows exactly what he’s doing.

Tiny,
So the freeze never came but almost....kinda weird we were both getting it on opposite ends of country. Yes...I like dry snow.....that is like REAL snow. So often here it is freezing rain that just breaks trees and causes car wrecks.
Yeppers I transplanted the basil...still alive...better keep it in sunniest part of greenhouse. Am going to turn the greenhouse into a warm winter greenhouse sooooooo am going to have to research heaters. What I have been using is on its last leg I think and never made it actually warm in there.
I took off all the leaves and froze them. Pesto I love. Nothing like just sautéing a ton of Fresh basil, olive oil and garlic right Into al dente pasta. You need nothing else!!! Well onion is always a given of course. I put a bunch in this potato chicken soup with a bunch of other Italians spices the other day......Yummo. I have the stems in my rosemary clippings fire pit. Gonna be a most fragrant burn!!!! Woohoo!!
You must try it...you can root it easily to in a clear glass jar/vase!! Basil is such a distinct fragrance....lightens the mood. Would not mind laying in a bed of basil....like Dorothy in the poppy fields!!,!! Lol....maybe not quite!!

Well the snow is melting here, but it's still cool. I didn't realize you can freeze basil! What a neat idea! I admit I use it in place of bay leaves at times. I have also cheated and used the basil paste from the store to make pesto...no judging! Before I met my husband I didn't cook much because the guy I was dating worked at the crunchy food store and it had a deli, so he was always bringing food home. Of course, he was a vegetarian. So anyhoo, I dumped him and ate a chili dog!!! Hahaha! I didn't cook a ton, but my husband loves being in the kitchen so it's something we do together. My house is from the 1950s so our kitchen isn't huge and we sometimes get in each other's way, but we have fun and that's the important part. When we were dating he would come to my house every night with groceries and we would cook. We just kind of kept at it. One of my neighbors has a very large green house and it's heated. I wonder how she does it...I never hear generators or anything. I'm going to try the rosemyfire thing and I can only imagine you flopping around like a mackerel in a bed of basil. Made me laugh out loud!

Im coming to one of your houses after work for dinner! Lol! This kind of talk is above my head for sure. Can you microwave basil with olive oil and pasta? Hahaha!
