They are very different. I’ve only been from Long Island south on the Atlantic. I love the barrier islands off the coast of Georgia. Gulf side I’ve only been off the pan handle. West coast I’ve been from B.C down to Oaxaca, but missed some of the more middle part of California coast. Oregon Coast and Northern California coast is much more wild and rugged feeling than anywhere. If you want to swim here and stay in long you will need a suit, wet or dry. I’d say this area is less populated than anywhere I’ve been on the Atlantic, so that’s a plus. Atlantic is “flat” where I’ve been. Here you can hike along cliffs and the views of the rugged coastline are unbeatable. I love Big Sur area too. If you go to Washington you can go to the Hoh Rain Forest and the Olympics. But you could easily do Washington and Oregon in a week. So drive from where you are over I-90 and take the ferry from Seattle over to the peninsula and drive down the Washington coast and come across the bridge to Astoria and then down the Oregon Coast and come back in midway and hook back up to I-5 to I -85 then go home through Craters of the Moon. I-85 takes you along the Columbia River Gorge and is stunning. Even after the fires.
Yeah. Would do that trip today if I could. Would say if you are gonna do that you may as well take the ferry to the San Juan’s and see some Orcas. Either way I’d plan it for migration time for the Grey Whales off the coast here. You can take a boat trip out, even charter private for pretty cheap but you’re gonna barf. Once you do you will be fine. You should really go to the Seattle Aquarium and Newport Aquarium too. Learn lots of stuff there. Plus you get to pet the starfish a lot. You can do that at the coast too though, they don’t mind. Just don’t peel them up as I think that is mean unless you’re really gentle, which I know you would be.
Be prepared for the slugs in the Rain Forest though as I’m sure you’ve not seen anything like them. About the size and color of a ripe banana. The ones on Oregon Coast are pretty impressive too. And you’re gonna have to tolerate the sea birds Tiny. They are varied and lovely and part of the circle. You’ll see lots of Bald Eagles too, but I imagine you maybe do where you are?
So that’s the trip I’d take this morning. Might be different by afternoon, lol! But yeah, I agree with Eve and come West. No offense to anyone but the Pacific would be first choice if you only see one. You are also a lot closer to here and can drive to the Oregon Coast from where you are in like 16 hours. Better let your Hubby drive though joy

Wow! 38 years. That’s amazing! Congratulations Susan. You guys must be best of friends. You are every bit as good at distraction as I am. Plus, Lemon Cake is a favourite for Tiny. You guys that like to cook. Nice.
I like all celebrations like what you described. Had been a big plus side to the Pandemic in my opinion and I find relief in that aspect of it. I have always had an open door and people close to me can come and go, stay or not, but I don’t like a lot of them at once.
38 years. You got married young!

Hahaha! Just reread this. Tiny...I have a teenager. I think I am viewed as “inconvenient “ most of the timejoy. This is the one I had written a huge reply to and nuked it. Will remember more of it later. Have a darn good day today, darn it. You see that moon last night? Gorgeous.

I'd definitely make him drive. But I pick the music! I think I'd like the more wild coast. And I don't think I'd peel a starfish. I'd just gently pet him. Just see him stuck on to his little rock, all happy like. I admit I always feel bad for the animals. I know they are happy but when you think of the territory of a sea turtle in the wild, it's hard to see one indoors. My husband says a lot of them were hurt so they can't go as far, but I still feel bad. I like to see animals released when at all possible. I love those shows with sir david attenborough. I love his voice. It matches so well with the creatures of the deep. I love netflix because i can watch lots of ocean shows. Well, you knew that. I want to start planning my ocean trip (no barfing allowed) but I feel like covid is going to last forever. It's overwhelming. I think you should be my trip planner....

Getting caught up here. I did get my Pros! I effing LOVE them. The BOSE sport buds were on sale too. Almost did it, but stuck with what I know and what I know pairs easily. I know your not an Apple fan, but I love my Apple stuff because it is effortless for me to make it go. I can’t be messing with any technical gadget issues as it makes me want to scream and smoke, in that order. The sound is excellent.
Off now for a month and got stuff to do before Wednesday. Gonna walk to Post Office later and nap! Haha. Life is rough. Then I got a two hour massage. Hot tub closed again though. Oh well.
Fonna need suggestions on good Netflix series. Don’t like supernatural or sci-fi really. Loved Ozark, Breaking Bad, Grace and Frankie. Don’t want too dark right now though. Funny might be good. Loved Doc Martin. Maybe I’ll check BBC. Loved Last Tango In Halifax too. Anyway, send me some suggestions!

Nah... NOTHING lasts forever. Except maybe styrofoam? Actually I haven’t watched a lot of the ocean shows on Netflix. Will plan on that this month. I have Hulu too but not sure how to work it. Will have Daughter teach me, joy I think I get Discover channel on that. I think after the first few days I will be able to walk a lot? She said this splint is kind of like a cast for the first two weeks and gotta keep it dry. Great. Should smell lovely when it comes off! joy

Don’t know why it’s copying like that but came out like 5 limes of gibberish. Go to Chopra Mediation Center and create account, get the app, do the free one that is running now called “Creating Peace From The Inside Out”.
Just do it. Go lay down, quiet place, and give it a go. It will take a lot at first as your mind will wander. That’s normal and ok. Just gently acknowledge that and refocus. You will do this every minute or so the first few times. That’s ok. Acknowledge, visualize the Oak and go back to it. This is where the practice lies, and the building strength in the meditation mind, when you see you’ve drifted, and bring yourself back to breath. Don’t let it frustrate you, or anything negative. It is similar to building quit muscles and takes practice and time. Each time you wander and acknowledge yourself with kindness and acceptance and go back to breath, you build a tiny bit more. Just focus on the meditation and let your mind and body be with it.

How you doing today? Did you try the meditation app?

I did and it was great. My mind did wander, like you said, but it was soothing. I'm doing better today, and I scheduled a therapy appointment a little earlier in the week than usual, just to get some support. I've still got lozenges in my purse if I need one. I'm trying to avoid it but my quit is too important to fool around with. Day 174. I thought I'd be done with cravings by now but I was a fool to think this would go away so quickly. How are the airpods? What are you reading? I'm reading the round house by louise erdrich. It's pretty good. I always dreamt of having a book club but then I remember that I hate people and I like picking my own books. I'm pretty weird that way.
