I have been on Chantix and Zyban for 2 1/2 months and have not smoked in 2 months. I must admit I am trying to convince myself it is okay to just have one, even though I know one cigarette leads to a pack a day habit. I am hoping this forum will help me stick to my guns and finally quit after 36 years.

I just wanted to reach out since you post showed up in and odd sub tired on this forum. You will get much more response if you post in the June folder or new August folder.
Congrats on your 2 months and this is a great place to be. We are all quitting and experiencing the same thoughts, etc. This addiction is sneaky and persistent. Requires passion to never be a slave to cigarettes again. I smoked for 45 years and have to break all my asociations to smoking as it was involved with every aspect of my life.
Just think of that voice as being a defeated enemy and do no smoke, just for today. We'll let tomorrow take care of tomorrow. Stay strong and post all you want here. You may reply to anyone. There are a lot of loving people here, pulling for each other. Thanks for quitting with me.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on over than 2 months quit. Actually, your brain is trying to convince you to have 'just one'. Don't fall for it.

Hello. I am new here today but as of today am 3 weeks smoke free. I am using patches and am hoping for success. I smoked for 22 years, a pack or more a day. Not real sure how forums work but seems like it might be a good support group. Thanks!

Here you will find all the information and support you will need to ensure that your quit is for life. Read as much as you can and post often - when I first came here, I was told to post until my fingers hurt. I did and it worked.

My name is Beverly and I quit 10 days ago. I quit for seven years when I was getting ready for and having children - it seemed easy in retrospect. Quitting for me...another matter. I regret the day I ever picked another one up. But I am glad to find this forum because I am having some weak moments during the days even though I was only smoking about 1 or 2 a day when I finally quit. I am on Chantix and I am so grateful that I started working for me about 2 to 3 months in - I thought it never would kick in fully. I am holding on and love the NOPE mantra!
