Hello everyone on the forum, I need some little advice and psychological support, after over 10 years I managed to abandon the smoking habit for about 3 months and I'm very happy about it, how do you keep fit in this critical period ? Thank you

Hi Fabby,
Congrats on your 3 month quit! That is a wonderful accomplishment! Keep up the good work! My advice is concentrate on the cessation of smoking, not a diet. keep eating as you have been. Try walking if you haven’t exercised for a while, now that you breathe easier. drink lots of water, with ice and a straw, as I think that helps the diet and the smoking.
One day at a time and you will have accomplished a major step as an adult!

Hi Susan, thanks for the advice and support, it's certainly a good start and it's my goal to continue like this, trying to start a bit with physical activity, unfortunately in recent months I've put on 5 kilos which I would like sooner or later then lose

Hey Fabby,
Going by your post, I'm assuming you're at least four months quit by now. Congratulations on that. Please let us know how you're doing with your quit and what your quit date is, so we can celebrate your milestones with you.
Susan offered you some wonderful advice and it's great that you've started some physical activities. Physical activity is a great distraction and is also good for overall health and weight loss. So, many benefits to that. Good for you.
I also gained weight when I quit, unfortunately, so I get where you're coming from with that. I'm posting a article here for you about weight during cessation. I hope you find it helpful and I wish you all the best.
Have a great day.
Use these tips to help you minimize or avoid the weight gain that often follows smoking cessation.

Hi Denim, thank you for your advice and support, so I haven't smoked for about five months and I'm very happy with the fact that I've managed to resist for all this time without relapsing, I'm much less nervous than I was a few months ago and I feel good, since September I joined the swimming pool to get back into shape and lose the weight accumulated in recent months, about 8 kg, for the moment I haven't put on any more weight and this is already excellent! Have a nice day and a hug

Thanks for the update. That's terrific. I'm so happy for you! Congratulations on those five months smoke free. Yay you! Also, swimming is a great way to exercise and it's such great fun too. I wish you all the best as you continue toward your goals.
Hugs.
Have a great day.
