Cash
Outside of the bigger cities (Lisbon and Porto) cash is preferred. I had some issues in some smaller towns on previous trips wanting to use a card, and a non-Portuguese card, well…forget it. It’s interesting…you pay your utility bills at an ATM. And many many things you pay a person or business directly through the ATM too. Like the class I signed up for, I paid through the ATM with their IBAN and account number. I’m not decided on my comfort with this yet, lol.
Ginger bread or fruit cake

Gingerbread.
That's interesting about the ATM. I always hear the US uses the most cash. Though that changed some. Some old restaurants & bars only started taking credit cards during COVID.
Gingerbread house: ornamental or edible

Jingle Bell Rock.
No chance of a White Christmas here…
Eggnog: spiked or not
(I had to phrase it that way because not sure what kind of alcohol one puts in eggnog )

Spiked. Traditionally it has rum. I think anything can go in. My grandmother made glogg, similar to mulled wine. Maybe I'll try that this year.
Hanging: mistletoe or candy canes.

Mistletoe to hang in the archway, but I like candy canes on the tree.
No eggnog around here anyway, . Lots and lots of wine to mull though! Come visit!
Wine: red or white
