Hi Donna,
Nice to hear from you. Thank you for posting the pictures. Beautiful job. I have looked into chalk paint but originally wanted to paint the cupboard a terra cotta. It' been so exhausting and time consuming that I just want it done now. Have decided to go with a weathered wash (grey look) over the knotty pine. Rather vintage looking. The stain must be ordered from either Lowes or Home Depot and that will take another week. On we go.
Yes, we are slowly reentering the world. Some lunches with friends, but mostly all on patios outside. Masks as we go to the stores ~ although many do not wear them. Unfortunately, we are in a category at risk due to age. So, we will follow the rules.
Stay safe. ((hugs)) Susan

Morning Susan. Eye is healing, finally. Getting backhoe loader cleaned and lubed, had trouble with my grease gun but straightened it out. The Winter chains hit a hydraulic coupler and uncoupled it so took me a little while to find why the backhoe wasn't working. Then we had a thunder storm so I will start working on Friday.
We finally had another pizza night with our daughter and grands. I eat vegetables, the pizza throws my glucose readings off for 48 to 72 hours. The kids enjoyed getting into the pool for the first time this season.
We have a chance of rain every day in the forecast but lots of sun too.
Have a great day.

Morning Kitty. I was watching a tv show where couples had to find a house in a new state and close the deal within 3 days, long weekend. Thinking of you guys moving. At least you two won' t have to rush like that. Still a lot to take on.
Have a great day.

takes a long time to decide what to take or not also......and getting all the annual stuff done.... eyes teeth etc.....now we will have to find all new Dr. up there....at least we will have good weather to move and find a house etc.....but we do have a place to stay while doing that...

Morning Kitty. I'm not bothering with eyes and teeth this year. It's been made into a mess. I do have to find a barber sometime though. My barber retired and moved to Arizona after the two previous had died. Then I started going to the mall but don't know when they will reopen.
I think we will probably live in our house for the duration. We moved here in 1980, raised our kids here. Only one bathroom with the four of us but it worked.
State Farm raised my premiums quite a bit this year so now I probably have to start shopping for insurance, had their insurance for 47 years.
Have a great day.

Hi Ernie ~
Happy to hear your eye is healing. Bent down quickly yesterday and seemed to have a few floaters most of the afternoon. I've had them before ~ quite annoying. They seem to be gone today..
Hope you had a nice Father's Day ~ and were able to do something with your family and grands. We met Jim's son and family at the Cleveland Yacht Club...... a bit hoity toity for my blood but his son and wife belong and they were doing the treating. .they didn't have his son's reservation so we were escorted to an off shoot of the patio. Very humid. Service quite slow (over one hour waiting for breakfast) and a hot and humid day. But, the scenery along the mouth of the river into the Lake was lovely and it gives you a chance to see how the "other side appears to spend their money". Haha. Wonder what those boats cost?
Decided we would try to kiyak again this summer. It's fun to go just along the river shore....Had a heck of a time getting "out" the last time ~ lol.
Badly needed gentle rain here and that makes me happy. Finishing up the cupboard. Ordered a weather wash (gray stain) to come from Home Depot on Wednesday.
Take care. Enjoy the cooler and wetter weather... Susan

Hi Kitty ~
Badly needed raindrops here. Makes me happy. Since I don't have faucet in the back of the house ~ I take many trips with the watering can and that is a pain....
Hope you had a nice week-end. Did you do anything special for Father's Day?
Are you planning on staying in the apartment up North when you arrive? I know you loved the gentlemen who owned the property.
Need to get on with Monday chores. Time slips away from me... Haha.

nothing special done for Father's Day except to treat Brian like a King....he was a phenomenal Dad considering that he was a step Dad to 5 kids....the kids love him and many find it amazing that he stepped in to such a task....and we are slowly packing as the time comes closer....no apartment this year....our daughter has an equipped walk out basement....small kitchenette full bath etc....so that is our plan while we look for a house to buy....I wish we were already up there since that would mean we are finished packing etc....stay well and I will stay in touch...

Dear Miss Kitty ~
Perhaps your ears were ringing yesterday morning ~ as Jim and I had our coffee on the glass table surrounded by your lovely Sanibel shells. We looked at each one and laughed how you would know EACH and EVERY one........they are indeed beautiful and a fun reminder of you and Brian and our trip ~ also ones you had sent so long ago.
A sunny but cool day here in Ohio. Off to find a new bird feeder. They are eating us out of house and home. Two hummingbird feeders where we are graced with a few each day. Also, a Baltimore Oriole appeared twice. We love our birds!
Enjoy the day. Susan

Dear Ernie,
Saw your posting re: State Farm. I took a break away from them for a year...and really regretted it. The new insurance company (although lower to begin with...raised my RATES the second year). Because I had been a State Farm customer since 1977....long long time, they welcomed me back with all of my years......with open arms. Never have had a problem with them. Good look finding quotes. I hate it all medical insurance, car insurance, yada yada. You have to compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges.
I will be shopping next year for health insurance. I know next year will be knee replacement and I have to have a more comprehensive policy.
Carry on...as they say. Susan
