Okay it's midnight and I just woke up from a weird dream. I turn on the tv and its on some movie channel and yet again there is Dennis Quaid smoking. Why is it that no matter the movie everyone is smoking. Is that a conspiracy to make smoking more glamorous?
4/4/18
Idk, maybe we just take more notice of it now. I remember, let’s just say several years ago, when smoking wasn’t as frowned upon as it is today, so there are a lot of the older movies that feature smoking, that is not to say we don’t still see it, but I don’t think it’s quite as common now as it was then. If the movie is really bothering you though maybe you can find something else on to watch that interest you, or try going back to sleep. Either way I hope you have a good rest of your night.

ColoradoMike, Rassister, Cindi, Claire, and Kusho50,
I haven’t been able to post as much as I’d like to, but I’m so glad to be a part of this group and so happy we’re here. I hope some of the others who were with us join us here soon. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello to everyone.

Marge, Debbie Steinman, SueP, and ModSue,
I haven’t been able to post on here since the post about feeling antsy/nervous. I did however see your responses. I’m sorry my own response has taken so long. Thank you though for the congratulations at 3 weeks, the useful information you provided me and the helpful tips. I took it all to heart. I still have my moments, no denying that, but I’m handling them a bit better than before. Thank you all so much for your help, encouragement and for the information. It’s almost 1 month, goodness. Anyway, it was and continues to be a big help. Thanks again. :)

Hi Denim,
I am so glad you are hanging in there. This is a tough process for sure. Take it one day at t time and get to bed smoke free.
I love your profile picture. It is a reminder of how you will soar free once from this terrible addiction. You can do this.

Marge,
I love that picture of the side mirror you posted and I’m still smiling from reading it. I hadn’t thought of my picture that way, but what you said puts it in a whole new light. I like that idea too. Thank you! I have to admit, I used so many of your ideas and suggestions to get here. I hope you don’t mind but, I think I’m going to copy that picture to remind myself of what it says. Have a great day.
:)

Hi Denim,
You are welcome to anything I post:)) I had that picture and one other pinned to the wall that leads my basement for the whole first year. That way I had to look at them every day. I still keep the one below on that wall because it helps me to sort thing things out and not be double-minded,

Hi Marilyn,
It looks like you have a signature with your quit date. Does that mean you have a paying membership or are you copying and pasting your signature every time you post? You need your star

I needed time before I went back to bed as my dream was really weird and if I go right back to sleep I continue the same dream. and the movie was from 92 so you might be right about it being old movies. I will watch that from now and make note of it. It just seems like everyone in movies is always smoking.

Hi Denim
I am glad we all helped. Congrats on reaching your 1st Full Month. I bet it feels great to have hung in there. This is a WICKED ADICTION and we must use every tool and all the help we can plus getting the support from all the like minded people on this forum. This is our Rehab Facility. Here we can complain nonstop, post our tough times and our good times and offer tips since we all know the stress of the quit gets so frustrating at times. It is a long slow process but we all have to relearn everything and do things without a cigarette at every turn. At first it all feels weird to go about our business without smoking but after constant repetition and time it will become automatic. We are all different but many people find their new smoke free lives somewhere after the first year. In the meantime, take this one crave, one day at a time & keep up the great job!
