Happy to hear you are doing well! I miss you guys and I could not have done this without you..... man going back and reading the beginning posts lol I was posting every 5 min!! I too hope everyone is still smoke free and has concurred their demons in their own way.
I still fantasize about smoking sometimes but yes the smell disgusts me and I'm so happy with my health benefits. ?

Hi Anne, thanks for the message. Interesting, but I wanted and counted every day to the first year anniversary. Had to remind myself of the second. I have very few cravings ever, but I miss smoking all the time. Like an old long lost friend, crazy, but that's junkie thinking.
It was much easier when I I mentally switched my coping, rewards, good times and down times, relaxing, stress with things other than smoking. Shedding the associations is key.
Congrats on the year and welp done. You are amazing and so strong. It gets easier

Hi andnso great!! Almost two years, amazing what you have done and you are doing so well. I think a lesson for us all, looking where we all started

We are doing well. Surving the covid chaos and in what feels like a space walk. But good to hear from you. Sending prayers and happy thoughts

I totally agree with you about shedding the associations. I have the odd 'wish I could smoke', then realize I can if I want to. I just don't want to go back to that again. It took too long to finally quite and hey, after all, we are romancing one cigarette. When in fact, that one cigarette turns into years of smoking with ugly side effects. It's never just one.
A lot like the mermaids in the Pirate movies - they look so pretty, you really want one and then, if you invite one in, it turns on you like a ferocious animal, dragging you into the depths of addiction and depravity. Nope, I can see right through that facade.
Cheers on your 2 years!!! Well done.

Hi Icandothis!,
Yes, two years such a huge and crazy milestone, you are almost there yourself, was 5th Jan 2019 for me, so just celebrated 2 years. I owe alot to this group, really helped me

Hi Robin,
Thank you :) we are really well and now have a little girl who just loves her big brother. Happy healthy and smoke-free since 5th Jan 2019.
How are you, crazy in the US and world right now. I have just recovered from Omicron, day by day!

I also look back amazed, was in such a fog, fuzz.
I still also think about smoking, even having a lovely Cuban cigar sitting on my mantlepiece as a reminder. But no going back
