Thank you, I am 6 hours in, feeling good, but I've been there before. I relapse when something bad happens, if I do something wrong or think I've upset someone, the stress makes me want to smoke, all good intentions go because I think 'it doesn't matter if it's killing me, I'm a bad person' although I also know I'm using that as an excuse to give in

I'm feeling more positive this time because of this forum

Don't be so hard on yourself, there's good and bad in all of us, don't focus on the negative, but think about the positive things in your life, if you upset someone apologise and move on, it's great that you are feeling good about your quit, write down all the good things about quitting and read over your list when you are feeling down, Reasons for quitting is a good place to start, Read some of the milestone posts from other quitters in Discussions under the Dots and Stars Milestones folder, read about the trials and temptations of other quitters and how they overcome them.

And remember to read and post, and help will be on it's way.

Kind regards

Hi........I have been on and off since January 1st.  I was at 24 days and have been slipping the past 10 days (mostly 1 smoke a day/sometimes 2)........Now I am back with 1 day under my belt and determined to make this quit stick!  So, guess I am part of the February group.  Good luck to everyone

Hi Lubbercat,

Wow that's great you made it to 24 days quit, I am only 8 days quit, I spent all of January trying to make a quit stick, finally perseverance paid off, well it has got me this far, good luck with your quit.

Kind regards

Well, looks like you are in with us now.  Good job.  What do you use to distract you?   Are you working?  Do you have hobbies?  Where are you from?  Just looking to get to know you and strike up a conversation.  Cheers

Thank you.  Hopefully I will be able to stick close to this forum and maybe that will keep me on the straight and narrow.  We can all do this!

I have a full time job in a large clinic, live on my own. My hobby is hiking with my dogs and a couple of times a week with a local group.

To distract myself at home I usually clean, or sew.

On Sunday I'm off to see my son and family for a week, and scared I'll be stressed and snappy but I can't use that as an excuse to smoke, that's what I usually do when I visit, I secretly start to smoke again to calm me but end up feeling so guilty
